People couldn't work out why I have water cooler bottles on my plot, until they saw that we threaded them through bamboo canes and they work as fantastic plastic scarecrows next to the blackberriesimage

There will be a reason, they just don't know it yet! Maybe cutting in half and using it as a seedling starter? That might have been the idea but not knowing how to put it into place

Hello Ginagibbs your plot looks so amazing

Maybe they were going to grow long veg in pots or for use with water butts, Ginagibbs is there a waiting list on your plot?   if the people do nothing in the time limit then that plot will be available

KEF thanks for looking in great that I have an allotment plot finally decided - what have you growing?

Caral very good that he wants his own - no competing or only on small bits - you will have to see if he wants to sign up to the site or you post pics of his plot

Went to the allotment today dug another metre square very windy stuff still blowing around - wonder what people will think when they turn up to their plots and stuff missing or others turn up and have gained stuff

Thanks Garden Girl. Not sure if there is a waiting list at the moment, but I am in contact with the allotment officer at the council and I asked her for first refusal on that plot, or if they want to reduce its size that I would be happy to take it on. If I see the chinese people again, i will suggest it. Hope your backs not aching with all the digging, What are you going to plant when your new beds are dug? image

Like the water bottle idea Fruitcake. image

Ginagibbs backs ok have to dig a bit then get all the soil off the roots and weeds, kind of digging the whole plot as really bad state and needs levelling off and brambles removing - don't think the plot has been cleared before lots of under ground rubbish

will get there still loads to do will cover soil for now when I start the next row with cardboard

can't add pic at min as website not letting me
