Evening! What a super day weather wise I spent the whole day on the allotment, and with all the nice rain we had, digging up weeds was a dream.
Slowly getting the plot cleared, and its even starting to take shape. Made my tomato cage today and planted up some chives, and sage to go with the lemon balm, for starting the herb garden.

I was jumping with excitement today, as I had the go-ahead from the association to have chickens. Yay! Just need to do the polite thing and ask the parish council. An all round excellent day.

I didn't think I'd get much done yesterday at either plot because of the rain overnight, but we got more done yesterday than I have been able to do in a fortnight! We've got sweetcorn and cabbage and beans planted out, all covered against the horrible weather.

I didn't get my potatoes out yesterday but the ground is ready for it so all I need now is a half decent day weather wise and I'm all set to go image

So pleased you have a plot Gardengirl.
My hubby has just applied for one image A half plot which is very close to mine, he wants a polytunnel on it.
Amazingly we have 4 plots available and no waiting list!

Caral that is great, is he the one that did not do gardening but you got a plot then interest started or am I thinking of someone else, great no waiting list and you can pick a plot

What will he grow will it be his stuff on one plot and yours on the other or will it be a joint venture?

Thanks all very windy weather today really blowing went to the allotment done another metre square, loads of stuff blowing around there, where it had rained last night the soil was a bit more crumbly to get off the weeds was up there a few hours then home for lunch

GWRS no shed and sitting area on path floor between plots at mo, lot of weeds brambles and bits on the plot to get rid of -think I want to make a pallet bench a different style to the one in the garden Youtube have one I like

Gg -You'll find, going often and doing abit at a time, the plot is soon cleared for planting. I've lots of old raspberry canes still to dig up, and some rogue brambles which have started to grow from roots left in the ground but they come up easily with a hand trowel.

It's rained most of the day here. Never known such poor weather in May, the temp is up and down from one day to the next. It's still to cold at night to leave anything in the GH so I'm bringing plants in and out.

We made sure to batten down the hatches at both plots yesterday, which has for a change, good forward planning image not a good forecast for tomorrow either image

Plants are holding themselves up quite nicely though image

,Hi all, well done choosing your plot Garden Girl, you must be pleasedimage

Lots of faces at the allotment over the bank holiday, no sign of the chinese family though, and nothing more has been done on their plot. Making some of my beds a bit wider as I had left the paths very wide on one side, so I should have a bit more growing space. Back ache today thoughimage

Got more pea plants in and some cauliflowers (under cloches), its been to wet and windy to sow. Whats happened to our weather!!

Gardengirl, yes well remembered hubby had no interest whatsoever, but has come round to the idea. He has made it clear that he will be deciding what goes on his plot, which is fair enough as my style of gardening is what he calls 'prettified' and a little too girly for him, as I like to made things look pretty, because I like pretty things to look at when chillaxing with a glass of wine.image

Although digging sticky heavy clay in the flipping gale force winds and rain this morning certainly wasn't girly. image
