Hi Guys, I walked past another allotment plot yesterday and they have a skip parked there for all their rubbish. Do your councils do this?  I thought I might email ours and get one delivered too.

Glad to be at work today as its raining very hard here so I dont feel so bad about being stuck indoorsimage

Zoomer I just managed to get some of the last few onions and garlic from our local GC, worth ringing round incase there are some left.

Ginagibbs that is great price for the incinerator - should get a new one as our one is falling apart used a lot

Not sure with the skip ask your council - rick van man had to pay for his own, one of the allotments this way has a skip near the gate but not sure if some one has had to pay for that the allotment is on a big slope so guess they can only put near top of hill near the gate

need to get on some time clear my runner bean canes down as all finished except the dwarf ones,  left foot saw old injury playing up - dry out now may have to have a wonder around

Last time I went to the allotment one man stopped to speak to us saying he would give us an allotment tomorrow shame he is not in charge, as so many not being looked after properly looking overgrown

image Signed for my own allotment on Friday and had that O. M. G moment!

A half plot, overgrown but has been strimmed to keep tidy. It's the same site where I share part of a friends plot which is  well established so have had a bit of 'practice' at digging and  success with runner beans and sweet corn.

Now to put all of the helpful advice given on here into good use image .

Cleared away all sorts of rubbish and raked lots of dried grasses and twigs into a heap. Mostly grassed over, low wire fencing,  a bed of raspberries canes (cut down), comfrey plants, a  cleared bed and blackberry cordon on the back fence. South facing, trees to north image

When this rain stops will be there again, more bits to bring away and a photo for the record!

put pics on here if you can

Good it is on the same site at least you know what grows well on the site

What are your plans? planting anything for winter, digging over area
