I went to the garden centre and stumbled across their 75% off sale- absolutely naff all to do with gardening but that's the kids Christmas stocking fillers sorted
I was meaning to go to the allotment on fri as it was lovely but instead tidied up the garden whilst hubby finished the pallet fence round the fish pond but typical it's been horrible weather here today so no allotment but hoping to move a small pear and cherry tree from our garden to the allotment tomorrow-weather depending.
Thanks for the links Gg, I can't think of a use for a flat shovel but I'm sure there is one.
Gave up my old plot at the AGM and today there were lots of potential plot holders waiting at the gate to be shown round the 5 vacant plots. My old plot went first to a couple from New Zealand who have grown stuff before, which was nice.
Bought a petrol grass trimmer today, I thought a bargin as I'll need either a push mower for the grass paths or battery strimmer to keep down the weeds on paths and my thinking was it will do both tasks plus I won't need to keep charging a battery .
Weather was ok here sunny went gardening at station lots of weeding done
thanks Zoomer44 Think I will have to look in Lidl at the shovel think it may be good for horse manure at home and bark chippings if the allotment gets them - need to look at it to decide if I like it and I like the hand cutter as well
Wow what a weekend been down the allotment again this weekend and managed to dig over right up to the top next week I need to tackle the old over grown compost bin and the old fire pit.
Managed to save loads of fencing materials think I will use them for raised beds and cold frames.
What do people advise I do to improve the quality of the ssolicits got a lot of clay in it?

We've had several inches of snow, so no trip to the plot today.
Put the trimmer together, thought I'd test it on the lawn at the back but will need to wait for the grass to dry out which may not be any time soon
Hope the weather is better where you are Stagbeetle and you've managed to move your tree's.
