  • Our council are a bit strict re fruit trees. You cant overshadow another plot so you have to plant them in the middle. I've planted 2 apple trees to go over an archway over my centre path which I will prune to keep small.

Wish I was there today instead of at work, its so lovely and sunny outsideimage

  • Ginagibbs That is a bit strange but I can under stand as not fair making shade on some one else's plot, you can buy those step over apple trees

Like the sound of one going over an arch

  •  Hi GardenGirl. Did think of the step over apple tree option, but as I am always tripping up and my plots on a slope, i could'nt face the hazard  image lol

Went for a quick visit, everything in order but resident foxy dug a couple of holes in the polythene. Network Rail vandals have cut down most of the tree's and bushes just over the fence.Exit windbreak GG I heaps of seeds, veg and flowers for companion  planting. Planning errrrrrr! with me it's suck it and see.

  • A few months ago I spotted that something had been digging in one of my tree pots in the garden. I put it down to foxes and thought nothing more of it.

This morning, I found the culprit. None other than my own cat image I think it was the least unfrozen part of soil in my garden that she could find image

Great day at Allottment ,  pruned gooseberry bushes , apple trees plus lots of little jobs , it was good to get there having had a few days in London

    Happy gardening everybodyimage

  • Naughty cat Fruitcake. Next doors kept pooping in my raised beds so i have sprinkled some holly leaves over it.No more poopimage

Looking forward to my precious day off tomorrow. Painted a piece of plank with my plot number on and a post, ready to go up at last. Does everyone else have to put a number up on their plot?

  • Hello Ginagibbs

on rules of our council website W3 You must erect a clearly visible number on your plot, good they do that if like I read somewhere you get a plot then you make sure it is the right plot unlike someone you don't want to be digging the wrong one

Ah Roy you know about Network Rail vandals or so called the garden clearance team - I volunteer at a train station garden and they have strimmed off some of the plants we put in before they go around once or twice a year,  shame you have lost a bit of windbreak from you plot may be get a bit of that windbreak fabric - like GWRS has

GWRS sounds like some bits getting done

Sean added a new video and met with Rob the winner of allotment challenge at Brighton's Seedy Sunday on the 1st of Feb he knew before we did I could see Michelle in the background from the first Big allotment challenge and Allotment wars - I thought about going but was a bit knackered from the potato day the day before

Ginagibbs , I to had a problem with cats using my Garden as a tiolet , friend suggested using Teasal and it worked , holly leaves should have same effect image

Did suggest to O/H about getting our own cat but as she doesn't really like them so that was vetoed

Watched the Allottment challange last night , wish I could grow Cauliflowers like those , can't be good at everything , enjoyed the show image

  • I watched the allotment challenge massive cauliflower, not much tips for the cape gooseberry though

Like the flower arch what a lot to do with that

Have been planning bits of where things I grow can go in my raised bed in paint programme using my own photo
