    Hi everyone????

GWRS... Hope you had a lovely holiday, where did you go?

Gardengirl...you seem to have done well with your seedlings

Gina.....what's is the allotment series called on YouTube , the one based around Bath and Bristol? Would love to see it as its local.

Stagbeetle/ Runnybeak.... Love my chickens too, we lost one a couple of weeks ago, so sad, but I treat them like pets (all have names) and I talk to them when I'm pottering in the garden, neighbours probably think I'm mad! The dog gets jealous too ????

ive just been reading a new thread about chitted potatoes. The picture shows huge shoots off the seed potatoes and the guy wanted to know what to do. One reply said to bury deep in pot etc, another said to knock off the shoots and start again. Have any of you had experience of this as I've just checked mine and they too have huge shoots!!!! HELP ????

Woo2 I would just plant the potatoes and not worry about how long the shoots are , some will get knocked off but that should'nt matter when you plant themimage

Hoildays went on a cruise to Norway to try and see the Northern Lights which I am pleased to say we did see them at sea when sailing from Alta image

Hi GWRS, went to Norway a few years back for work, absolutely stunning country, I was blown away by the glorious scenery. Stayed in a hotel overlooking Geirangerfjord .Went in the summer though, so no Northern Lights, midnight sun instead. Hope you had a lovely time too.image

Woo, I started my toms in a heated propagator so they came up very fast. The series on You Tube is just called "The Allotment"   (by Silver Surfer.)

I'd love to go to Norway image

todays allotmenting involved finishing tying the wire to the base of the chicken run, painting what I didn't get to paint of the shed previously because it was too wet, and building the base for the chicken house. If we can find the ultra safe place where he put the screws and instructions, it'll be going up tomorrow image Then all we have to do is put the wire on the back and door, tighten up where needs tightening up then it's good to go *jumps with excitement*

A lady was putting her potatoes in today... Mine are going in next weekend. Meanwhile, I have about a million silver skin pickling onions to get sown!

I'd like to see the Northern lights, you were lucky GWRS. Sounds like you are almost ready for your chucks - Fruitcakeimage

Spent a good 2hrs digging on the plot today, ever so pleased, got a good sized area finished and edged with branches. 4 tier GH is up and secured down with bricks and bean support finished.      .

There were lots of people out today, the new holders have made good starts, I had a walk down the track past my old plot, couldn't help having a nosey.

Despite saying I was going to wait till April to plant anything out, think I'll start next weekend with Shallots...they've started to sprout in the back bedroom.
