Question. When you're at your allotment, and nature calls, what do you do? I know it's easy for the blokes so I guess this is a question for the ladies (said in a David Walliams little Britain type way lol)
Just where do you go for a wee?? I have a bucket, a shed and a million spiders I have only had to use it once and I couldn't go quick enough.
I only ask because I'm not doing myself any favours by not drinking when I'm at either site for any amount of time
Hello everybody , back of hols , lovely and sunny in Lincolnshire today
Hopefully going to allottment tommrow , it will be interesting to see what's happened , also it is our AGM on Sunday so have to pay the rent for the year
Fruitcake , have a special bucket with red lid ! I don't like spiders either so would recommend spraying shed with lots of fly spray just as you leave , works for me
Stagbetle , you will need to open the mini g/h when up they as I found you can get a lot of moisture / condensation Bricks in bottom as somebody suggested also if very windy site you could fix it to a post , I also have mine on slabs
Fruitcake, why do you think I was so keen to get a poly tunnel?!!!!
Seriously, we do have a loo on site but I think there are probably more spiders in there than my shed, so I too have a special bucket. plus its good to throw on the compost heap!!
Had to go to London yesterday so missed my normal Wednesday off to do any gardening. Shame, the weather was lovely. Got back at 6pm so had enough time to do a bit more sowing. Put salad and spinach seeds in my raised bed at home and did some cherry toms and more annuals..
Fruitcake I nearly went on here late yesterday but then the internet played up and was not letting us on any site
Home garden plot so use loo in house - but know what you mean, do you have a mini hover like dyson that you could use to suck all the spiders away? or use a dusting bush clear them out, there is a loo at the allotment where I will be going - but bucket I think best bet as you do need to keep hydrated - may be you need a camping loo tent Google it they are not that expensive and nicer to go in than a spider shed
Ginagibbs good use of the poly tunnel, nice to sow seeds
I want to prick out my celery and cauliflower today and sow some seeds, I am trying this year planting by the moon
Yesterday I managed to clear up the area - piled plants in a different space, so I have room for the 5 tier green house
Then later put it together and it is now up with bricks on bottom shelf, then sowed my sweet peas indoors
Left empty over night, today I will put some seedlings in, that is one up the other one will wait a few weeks for this one to fill up first then go next door
GWRS welcome back, I guess seed sowing and prep for you now
Roy how is your plot doing? you not been on here for a bit
Allotment at chicken site coming on very well- I have dug a whole new bed 4m x 1.5 ish m, I didn't have the energy to rake it all over too . I did get to rake over more of the other side, probably enough for three more rows of stuff so far. There are some plastic half barrels on the border which I emptied today. They are bottomless and the plan is to move them across to the main bed and use them for carrots.
The chicken house is going up this weekend I will have my girls within the next four weeks! Still need to put the wire on the back of the run, but we have deliberately left that off so we can get the house in, and a few finishing touches and we are set to go
Gina - I'm putting carrots in there because I can add mix as much sand as I like to it- I'll do some in the ground too but I think I know already where the smart money is

Got one of these at home GG, its what got me into gardening.
Still use it as it takes the overspill of the greenhouse.
I think I might have to get a she wee lol.

i am having a day off allotmenting tomorrow
Hi fruitcake, i inherited a bottomless plastic half barrel, I wondered what it was for!
Was going to use it to grow spuds, but might be better for carrots
Gina - I'm putting carrots in there because I can add mix as much sand as I like to it- I'll do some in the ground too but I think I know already where the smart money is
Very good carrot fly keeper offer too...
I have transplanted my celery and I have absolute loads and cauliflower and sown some red lettuce and moved lots of my seedling to the green house
Fruitcake sound good that you will get your chicken coop at your allotment
Really like this one look so cute I saw in an open garden below
and here are some more they had
I love chickens and so miss ours.
my seed pots/compost have a furry cover on them, will they be ok?
so far
this will be for runner beans, peas and marigold.
Fruit here, so far pear and cherry.
I still have a lot of work and need to enlarge the potato area.
What is this? ^^ should I dig it up?
apparently someone is using our plot to park on so need to put something across so it doesn't keep happening.
