  • That was good Roy that you saw the lady that gave you the raspberry canes

GWRS that a lot that you managed to get done, was there newer bark chippings?  enjoy your time tomorrow up the allotment

Roy if you have a whole plots it is probably equal to Fruitcakes 2 x half plots

I am going for the potato offer from T&M want the bags too also the spuds

Do you mean the T&M offer in GW mag...along with the bags you also get some gloves and 5 pks of seed ...image

GWRS do you already have the glass to reglaze your GH....I'm trying to find a stockist to get glass for the one on the plot...

Spuds won't be in our local GC for a couple of weeks. We also have a fair in January but it isn't advertised till the week before. The next nearest fair to us is in Skem but it seems along way to travel just for spuds.

Zoomer , I do have glass but will have to use polycarbonate as well due to some DIY repairs to G/H

However greenhouse glass is easy to get from a Glass Business , needed some replacements for G/H at homeimage

Spuds , get mine from Kings always very good , got egg boxes ready for chatting image

  • Zoomer yes I mean the GW mag offer with the other bits as well looks a good one

The potato show I go to has seed swap, plants, trays gifts and lots of pea and bean seeds - I got my peach tree from there last year lots of stuff to look at and get

we just take some food with us as they do not have much to eat there apart from cups of hot drinks and biscuits for lunch - so we take sandwiches and doughnuts need extra sugar boost for looking at all the spud and picking which ones to go for

GWRS got my egg boxes ready as well

Bark Chipping's , lots of new shredded stuff looks like confiner bits , great for paths

However if you dig down lots of old rotted down stuff which I put on the some of the beds and around the couple of fruit trees I have image

Never been to a plant fair will have to try one next year image

  • I believe T&M have 2 different potato offers on- jazzy potatoes and another one. The other one is on "offers" up the top of this page next to the word forum. I ordered both today

GWRS - I've been looking on line and there is a local glass business, I'll check out their prices. B & Q seem the best value at presant though for a full set of glass.

Will be planning where to grow stuff on the plot over the next few weeks for the coming year, I need to get my head around a 4yr crop rotation because I'm going to be planting more than one group of vegs in an area over the year ...image

  • Zoomer, I'm kinda working on the same logic- as I grow and harvest, I plug the gaps with something else so I just have to work out some kind of plan

can you grow first earlies, second earlies and main crops on the same bit? I'm assuming that they won't all be in the ground at the same time?

  • Fruitcake they first earlies are in the ground the shortest but the 2nd and main crop are all in the ground at the same time the main are just in there for longer - so best to have a separate bit of ground you can have them planted near to each other

Like if you planted them all the same day you lift the first crop shorted amount of time and then second and then main the longest it is just the length of time they are in the ground for

Sometimes people say if you don't have space for them all grow fist and second croppers as main crop are more likely to get problems e.g.. blight, you could grow them in a bag if not enough space
