GWRS me not grown pumpkin either, there is a small shed that next door don't use really right next to the path and we used that area to sit eat food and shelter from the wind

Hands ok ish today ended up coppicing trees around the pond - volunteering Sholing valley study centre  -  thought it would be litter picking and it was raining

Digging is really hard some areas tough grass, hoping the next bit will be easier but there are lots of brambles so that will mean roots under ground

One allotment woman said we have done well compared to the last people, this plot has never really been dug / cleared so will be tough but mine

Keep up the good work GG,  this time next year you can look back and pat yourself on the back, as I am sure it will look amazing.

Had a lovely afternoon at the plot yesterday, the sun came out and it was quite hot. Got some more beetroots and turnips seeds in between the rows of sweetcorn .Dug up half my garlic as they were ready and I need the space. Potatoes are just starting to come into flower now.

tempted to leave a plate, some cutlery in my shed so I can have a salad there for lunch

. Made a nice veg soup for supper with home grown stuff yumimage

You guy's all sound like you've been busy with producive plots . Think I'm about 4-6 weeks behind everyone. My toms are only 2inches tall so bought some for the GH, it has glass in now, also have chillies, peppers, aubergines and cue's in there. It's still only half full though so went oin a further trip to Mammoth Onions yesterday.

It's not been very good planting out weather here and alot of plot holders have lost stuff. Veg in modules is growing painfully slow. Only rubarb to harevest but strawberries are all in flower and the fruit bushes are looking good. Spuds have just started to poke through the soil.

Zoomer, its interesting to see how plots vary even on the same site, some people on my allotment are way behind, others seem to be in advance.  My toms are almost ready to plant out but my aubergines are minute! image

Went up last night in that foul weather (had to walk the dogs anyway) to make sure nothing had been blown over in the wind. Garden furniture was strewn around the lawn this morningimage

Gina aubergines need a long warm summer to produce. I've had meagre ones in the past so this year I have grown a variety called Ophelia that are designed for patio pots, smaller fruit but prolific image They were sown in a heated propagator on 4/3  in the house, have been potted on 3 times and now in a GH in final buckets about 8" high. Too chilly to put them outside as yet, but keeping my eye on them for white fly..they seem to attract it image I hope yours buck up soon and you get to make a Mousakka image

I'm at work today, just been in the unit next door which is a florists wholesaler. I go past every day but have never asked prices of stuff as I thought you had to be trade to purchase. Good news is you dont and I can get lots of different potted plants very cheaply (more than half the cost than in the shops or GC's)imageimageimage happy days!

KEF, I will take the aubergines back home to put in my glass greenhouse, I think it is warmer than the polytunnel, and see how they get on. My peppers are small too so will do the same.

Went over to our Allotments this morning poor veg plants have had a rough time  with the  gales and heavy rain. Good weather on it's way so hopefully they will pick up. Gardengirl you have my sympathy I hurt everywhere but they say no pain no gain. When we start to harvest I guess,we will all think it was worth it.
