Angel thanks  - only have potatoes growing I hope ................ they have not come though the soil yet, still lots of digging and clearing to go on my plot,  had it a month now

Yep nothing like the big allotment challenge but then knew it would not be that easyimage

At home got things growing will be planting out beans this week and going to Stansted garden show on Saturday near Chichester so will get some inspiration and other stuff

    Angel how is your plot?

My plot is going ok. Sweet corn French beans and runner beans are a bit wind swept but holding on. Fruit bushes are fantastic hope birds don't get caught up in the nets. Garlic won't be long for harvesting. I picked a few strawberries today they are so nice.  Broad beans have a bit of black fly but I will sort that out with a bit of washing up liquid.

    Happy anniversary, Ginagibbs.

Spent the afternoon on the plot, it's taking twice as long to do things, so my thoughts are with you Gg and your sore muscles. I take lots of breaks and today it was nice and sunny so it was good to take in the rays. I can't yet do any digging but covered area's after digging, last August, with muck and black plastic , so just uncovering bits at a time and planting up. Letting the worms do all the work is so much easier.

Planted out runner beans, more pea's, chard, pumkin and stuff in the GH. Pea weevil has been nibbling at the pea's already out!

I have been a big slack on the allotment side of things image. Well, saying that, I have been at the chicken one loads but that was because one of my girls has gone broody so I have been working on a cage for her to snap her out of it. My back was in pieces by the time I'd finished image

I have 5 large gooseberry plants there full of fruit image I need to get some champagne yeast - you can tell what my plans are for those!

I need to go to the other one, broad beans are ready for picking, a few strawberries and hopefully a few new potatoes image We need to get cracking on getting the fruit cage up too.

    Hello

Went to Stansted garden show yesterday (near Chichester) and Katie from Youtube Lavender and Leeks had a stall so got to meet her and see her dad and mum talked about my plot and hers and I brought a few bits - a crook, a string holding frame and some bulldog clips, me 5.2 but Katie is so much taller, I brought a few bits from other stalls

Here is the bits from Katie's stall

Been to the allotment today nice hot and sunny, we cleared 3 metres of top growth so we can see the soil, still the digging to go, this is in a different area on the plot as I want to make a temporary bed for left over veg and flowers plants as lots of seedlings germinated and I want to keep them all

Trimmed some grass down, so want them to strim the plot but not done yet

Noticed a large pile of bark chipping so will be bagging some tomorrow

    How are your plots doing?

Hi Garden Girl, glad you had a nice day out. I like the string holder!

Went to the plot yesterday for a few hours, re potted and staked a load of tomato plants. Dug in some more manure and planted some assorted squashes, marigolds and kale. One of the plot holders with chickens accepts "donations" for his surplus eggs, which we had for breakfast yesterday, they were lovely and fresh, glad I have an egg supplier now, no more supermarket eggs!!image
