GWRS you are right there. Ours is not as big as yours but some are here. We have to buy our own sheds and keep our plots in good order. If we don't we get a letter and a warning. We have water troughs all the way up the centre pathways which is a godsend. One plot holder said it hasn't't always been like that there used to be just an old pump on the whole allotment site and everyone used that. Times have changed thank goodness. Although it's Council property it's run by The Allotment Association. We pay a little over 20pounds for 2 Allotments one is about 50 ft and the other is 80ft ish long. GWRS you must be super human to have an Allotment like yours  you deserve a medal. We just about manage ours it's enough for us two oldies.

The cost of a plot where I am ranges from £20 to £60 according to size. 10% discount for over 27'simage

Half the plot needs to be cultivated and some plot holders do just enough to keep their sites but other sites are well cared for.

Take heart Gg, I was a lazy gardener and my intentions are to be a lazy allotmenteer but it's hard work to start with.

Can't wait to see how you are getting on. It's hard work but we'll worth it in the end. Wish we had a loo on our Allotment.

Hi GG Its a lovely plot, surrounded by trees so it feels very private.

Thats my shed, I share it with next door but it has 2 doors so they are separate inside (good job cos I get changed in there). It has a lean too bit on the back thats very usefull, the dogs go there for shade. I have my walk in green house too now, I have got a couple of chairs but I never get time to sit down.too busy digging !!

The plot near the entrance is run by an elderly lady, its very pretty and neat and sets a high standardimage

That is lucky with the shed - have you got different garden tools for at home to the allotment?

I have a walk in gh one of those large plastic ones from B&Q it is great - have you seen my pallet thread I made a potting bench for my gh from about 2 pallets

I hope I get a plot like that private so I don't get disturbed to much, easy distracted me, and don't want a plot with no shelter

This plot pic below won the best allotment award in the show on the 16th Aug, quite neat - the people in the shop when we asked which plot said it's a man's plot with straight line regimental
