Check your association rules, Fruitcake, for, which live stock you can keep on the allotment, I'm sure you have otherwise you wouldn't be setting up to keep chucks.
Ours is limited, you can only keep bee's although other local sites allow chickens.
Yes, they are for eating. At least I think so, I cannot think of any other reason at all for keeping them, and the set up indicates that they're not pets our rules state that you can keep chooks, rabbits and bees.
When I go tomorrow to get the guys email address, I'm gonna take a pic of the hole and poo to email him as well. His plot, his responsibility and I'm pretty sure he wouldn't want a fox den six feet away from his bunnies.
I think we have decided to carry on as we are doing but get just two chickens for the moment instead of the six we were planning on. It sounds awful but surely it's easier to lose two than 6? We can see how things go with the foxes and increase the hen numbers when we are confident that they'll be ok
This is just like Spring Watch , never seen a foxes den . When lived in Birmingham saw lots of foxes now I live in semi rural Lincolnshire only ever seen 1 in 25 years and it caught a rabbit for dinner
Zoomer , the strimmer I got had a small plastic blade , no wire , should be a lot better it is a Bosch and was got from B & Q
another good day at the Allottment yesterday , bonefire , painted shed no2 and a bit of hoeing , lovely and sunny today but have do paper work for meeting tommrow much rather be outside
Fruitcake ,That is one posh chook house ,look out for foxy our resident has been digging under the edging I'v put down . That's just for worms what would he do for chicken.Read our agreement can keep chickens, and rabbits but permission needed for bees.
hello, I've just spoken to my council and expected that the allotments would have a long list, well they said there was one person ahead of me and I should receive a letter this week about booking a visit! I'm trying not to get too exciting until I get the letter and see the plot
I was thinking of getting the constant garden from rocket garden as I don't have a green house to start the seedlings in. lots of advice will be needed I think.

Does 'pot' rabbits mean they are to eat!
