Woo2 that is horrible only thing to keep checking them and make sure they are ok, greenhouse sounds good and nice to have ideas down on paper, are you going to grow cut flowers, I remember you grow a few veg
Woo2 have you the Sutton catalogue in the small red booklet inspiring gift, I like the small iron greenhouse and the indoor allotment planters
Think you will have good space in your garden in the area you are preparing for your cut flowers
I have looked though the catalogues and have spotted some nice looking flowers in them - so will be making a list but not too big if not it will be expensive and I have quite a few flower seeds to grow any way , it's the year of the sunflower next year for Suttons so I need to try grow them well and keep the slugs away
GG, yes I've been looking through all my catalogues this afternoon, Suttons have some lovely gift ideas.
Re sunflowers, I like the Ruby Sunset, the colour looks lovely and rich and the Jade Green and Suntastic yellow are nice( dwarf varieties). So much to choose from!
Gg you are probably right about making a door, thing is it's a home made shed and the door way is about 4ft by 7ft. Me thinks a lockable box inside might be a compromise
Teddy bear is another nice sunflower and Velvet Queen.
I started the modules off in the greenhouse and moved them outside while it was still reasonably warm. When I realised they weren't doing anything, I got a completely seperate batch and planted them directly at the allotment.
Sorry to hear about your chooks Woo2, we have a mangey old fox on our site who thinks he owns the place and doesnt even bother to run away quickly, saw him yesterday and he just stared at me for ages!!
GG I didnt know Sunflowers kept the slugs away, you learn something new everyday! will have to grow loads more
I put my onions and garlic in end of September and both are doing well, probably about 8" high, but we did have some warm days(I'm in Glos)
Didnt spend much time at the plot this weekend as I thought it high time I cleaned the car, bathed the dogs, etc. did manage to paint some of the reclaimed trellis I found in a skip though. Its looking quite smart now!! I checked the label on the grape vine I bought, it is very hardy, out door variety so will put some trellis up for it near the shed and it can grow up over the roof.
