GWRS - Happy birthday for tomorrow, hope you have a nice time in Tenby.

Gg -hope you get  a better choice next time, it must be difficult if only one plot is available at any one time. I had a few plots to choose from and they were all over grown, presenting different challenges. Sometimes, you just need togo for it and  dip your toe in the water.

Our allotments only allow you to turn down two then you have to go for the third or reapply. Good luckimage

Started picking rubarb from the back garden, not enough for a pie yet so stewed it and had some with greek yoghurt, going down to the plot tomorrow to see how it's faring there.

    Happy Birthday GWRSimage

Had a go at mowing my grass paths yesterday, first time this year as I just got a little cylinder mower. The people with the messy plot turned up after I left so I expect they want to keep it and make a go of it. We'll see how it goes!!

Planted some peas, I think they are Kelvedon Wonder, they dont look happy, as they are going a bit yellow instead of staying green. Grew them last year without much success on the plot, although they grew really well at home (different soil), image I have done a lot of work improving the soil since then, so I dont quite know whats wrong, any ideas guys?

Ginagibbs here an article which could help

    http://www.ehow.com/how-does_5183658_vegetable-plants-turning-yellow_.html

Zoomer our council lets you have any number of turn downs of plots, you just stay at top of list till you get one, we checked this to start with

I did not turn down the plot they let me have extra time till another one came up to compare and decide

I visited yesterday late in the afternoon hard to find the plot not numbered well very confusing 3 different plots in different places same numbers but with one number and A and B about a few mins after it started raining then really heavy so went home when getting out of gate started hailstoning on me painful

In evening went back as dryer had more of a look found some small fruit trees and raspberry's canes and a lot of mess

Here is a pic below, white building in next plot.

Strange thing is that after looking around this plot I think I prefer the first one, this one is a smaller plot

It does'nt look too bad GG, seen a lot worse, just needs a good strim and digging. Is this plot near the public path, I got the impression you did'nt like the location of the first one because of that? Can you find out if its smaller, ours are all supposed to be the same, but some are whole plots or half plots.

Thanks for the link re peas, I will have a lookimage

I measured it think this one is about 5 rods the other 8.5 rods

This plot is not far from the other plot you can see it from there and this one has the road that goes around the allotment at the bottom

Thank you ginagibbs, I've sent a PM.

Gg - Good news - you can stay at the top of the list. This plot looks to have less bumps and a shed. Being near the access road is also useful if you need to bring on anything heavy, why not make a list of the pro's and con's for each site.

Our plots are all different sizes, then there are half plots and full one's. How big is a rod in feet?
