I have just come in from several hours work in the garden and after a cup of coffee will go out again.  I added an alpine heuchera to my collection last night at the AGS meeting, Heuchera pulcellus, and have found a pan to plant it in to show off its delightful little flowers when they come.  The birds are really filling the air with their songs and, with my new hearind aids i acquired last Monday I can distinguish them.  I have found the buzzing of bees very loud when near my head - quite sure they sound angry and ready to sting!  But so far so good.  I am sure the late afternoon will be too hot for the heavy work I am doing in the spinney so will find a gentler pursuit then,  We have been warned of bad weather reaching Bristol on Tuesday so mean to get as much as possible done outside before then.

What a lovely picture, flumpy1!  I have 32 pots of tomatoes in 8 varieties lining the drive so far.  Probably as many to do again.  Flower tfusses galore.  The blossom on the trees and shrubs has been super this year.  I picked my forst 12 trial broad beans (sown in October) for Mr. Fothergills Nation of Gardeners project, cooked them and ate them - only babies but I prefer to eat them skin and all when very young.  They were delicious with my fish and chips.

Good morning image such a beautiful morning, fresh breeze, warm sunshine, cool shade. A good day yesterday tidying borders and lawn edges, moving potted dahlias and agapanthas into a warmer sheltered spot. Trimmed back the wallflowers, reluctant to pull out as they are still showing their rich colours. Forgetmenots - sad to have to take out, but gives space for others. Muscari have died back but not sure what to do with them, cut off the spent stems? Will check the site to see what others do.

Today is final check on things before going away next weekend.

The broad beans look a like a success trial Marion and tasty! There are times when I would love to have a vegetable plot. Space taken -  many shrubs and trees, shed, lawn, pond, borders, with family and friends: a good life. image

Looks like this beautiful weather will last till Tuesday, BizzieB.  I have sown yellow nasturtium "Moonlight" this morning and three shrubs and planted tomatoes in their big pots.  More pruning in the spinney this afternoon and path clearing as I have my first open day on the 28th May.  The garden is looking pretty as a picture.

Good morning Marion.  Your garden is looking beautiful with such a diverse range of plants.

Please could you tell me the name of the plant with the red flowers in your last picture.  I don't think I have seen that before.  Enjoy your lovely weather while it lasts.
