Congratulations Marion well done! . I've still got the odd crysanthamum Flowers popping out and one yellow Gazania, ho I noticed my tulip bulbs have started growing, only the heads are popping out, is this normal?
Oh that does sound early for tulips Lots of people are reporting hyacinths heads showing but not tulips. I will look at my dwarf species varieties which have naturalised in my garden and see if there are any flowerbuds showing tomorrow. Certainly not normal, usually end of March is considered early. At least outside. Are yours indoors or out?
I named the cocktail," Justingredients Joyful Juice," Beaus Mum. I have just put a Xmas cake in the oven so lovely smells are wafting through into the study. Lovely sunshine outside so will take a walk to our post box with Xmas cards and come back and fill up the green wheeliebin as i want to go and visit the Botanic Gdns tomorrow The AGS has its Xmas social on this Friday evening so am hoping the weather stays good till then. At the weekend I shall deck out all the plants in the conservatory and switch on the lights in the evenings. Our lane is looking beautiful with all the decorations.
Oh my goodness I did enjoy "The Choir" on BBC tonight. Looking forward to the Xmas schedule on the BBC. I did see "Kiss me Kate" over sixty years ago at the theatre and really enjoyed it then, having been a Shakespeare buff from the age of ten.
Such a mild day and I found 18 plants flowering in the Botanic garden outside and of course lovely orchids flowering in Subtropical.. The ones giving a good show outside were Hellebores,French marigolds, Rocket, Tulbaghia violacea, Fuchsia magellanica, Iris unguicularis, Osteospermum jucundum "Nanum",Primula veris, English marigolds,Coronilla citrina, Mahonia lomartifoliia, Impatiens tinctoria, Vinca major, Gentiana acaulis,Salvia guarantica, Begonia chitonensis, Parahebe hookeriana. So if anyone wants a garden full of flower for Xmas these are the plants to grow.
I have not checked on my tulips, flumpy 1 and I have many species but will do tomorrow. But I must say it would not surprise me that bulbs are flowering early as this has been a very warm year. It is almost like summer tonight in Bristol, still as warm now as it has been all day The plants must be quite bamboozled.
