Evening all, just back from work and having a honey brandy in my coffee! need to put the pep back in my step, still much to do!
Liri, the home you and your sister have chosen for your mother sounds perfect! Chickens a cat, small.....all those things scream lovely environment! I know you have done your research well and considered everything so I'm sure she will be very comfortable there. It will be a nice excuse to see more of your sister and her family also I think its a good idea not mentioning it, it would unsettle her in advance and worry her unnecessarily, I'm sure she will settle in fine???
Dove, glad the car passed its exams!
Hosta, your garden is gorgeous! May need a womble hut in it somewhere!
Have a lovely evening everyone, sorry memory fails me now...tired, not the brandy!
Glad things seem to be sorting themselves out for you Wonky Brandy is a good pep inducer
Liri, glad you have made a choice. Like Wonky I think it sounds like a lovely place. It'll be odd as you have been used to being near, but will make those visits more special
I can't keep everyone and everything in my head, so I hope no one feels I'm ignoring them . . . . I am trying to keep all the new stuff I am learning at work in
Morning all. Having a bit of a lay in before the power goes off at 9am. It's 8.15 now. Hubby has filled the thermos, but I don't fancy going without my nice hot toast, so I'll be making sure that is done in time. It's a bit cool today. We've had more rain overnight and the temp has dropped considerably.
it might be several hours before I can read all your lovely posts again, but it'll be worth it, I'm sure.
Thanks again for your kind and helpful comments about Mum. Hopefully we'll be able to move her in the next 2-3 weeks.
If I won the lottery I'd give loads of money to fund research into this dreadful illness. But as it is, I've just signed up for a research study - they needed 5000 volunteers over 50, who don't have dementia, to be studied over the next 10 years to see if there are any identifiable triggers, genetic markers etc, and if there are things we can do to protect ourselves from getting dementia later.
Enjoy your toast, Pat! I'm just about to make the cocoa and then we're off to bed.
Night all
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
The power has just come back on, so I'm looking forward to some reading on the various sites.
Thanks Liri. I managed to get the toast done - and enjoyed it with my home made quince jelly.
It's been a very boring day today. It's actually been raining on and off all day, and quite cool so we've been sitting around inside. Hubby has even lit the fire again, after we thought we'd finished for the season.
Good morning Dove, just what I need. Afternoon Pat.
Very windy out there this morning but too dark to see if anything has blown over. I hope the dog decides she doesn't want to go out. I think a day of cooking is on the cards.
