Overnight temp down to 1C last night, but back up to 9C at the moment Pat, and the heating's on for the moment so I'm nice and toasty.

Pat, you asked about our fish pie ... I make mine pretty much like this one http://goodfood.uktv.co.uk/recipe/rick-steins-fish-pie/ .  I usually add some salmon and shellfish as well as the white and smoked fish, and I add the grated zest of half a lemon to the sauce.

just been down to reception. We're being collected at 12 and our flight leaves at 14.45. Another day wasted.image

All this because some A**E had a fag in the loos and became A***Y when confronted by cabin crew.

We were only 20 mins from landing at that point . Now we're over 2 hours away.

Thanks Dove. He's keen to have a go at the fish pie.  Will make a nice change from our usual diet.  Tonight we had a Fritatta with lots of my garden vegs, and using up some odd bits of cheese left over from various holiday meals. Not bad!!!

Hosta, your adventure is getting more and more intriguing.

and, guess what, we have light rain at the moment the and it's a bit cool. Yippee!image

Easy jet just abandoned us in an empty airport. Not one member of staff waited behind to help.

We were told we'd get dinner at the hotel, but by the time we got here, the hotel said we'd have to pay then claim back later. Those who did order food had to wait over 2 hours for it.

his argument went along the lines of  " if we're not allowed to smoke, why is there an ashtray in there?"

I said " you can buy condoms in Boots, but you can't use them in there"

image  If you were only 20 minutes from landing, why did you have to go back to Crete?

Now you see why we like getting in the car and driving down to Cornwall - most things are under our own control (plus we've discovered a delightful little B&B on the wayimage).

Couldn't be doing with being abandoned in the middle of nowhere by Easyjet totally at the mercy of others who don't have any reason to give a damn.  image

they have and it was very good ( esp as we were starving). I've made up a couple of rolls and got some fruit for the plane.
