Oh Runnybeak!  Glad it's nothing worse, but how horrid.  Please wish your OH well from us ((hugs)) to both of you (if your OH doesn't mind being hugged by a load of strange gardeners image)

Talking about mishearing. The dancing robots for the insurance advert.. Brian is it. ?

Anyway are they singing "we're so horny, so horny, so horny"  ????

And how do horny robots do it anyway???

Or should I get a hearing test next time I go to Specsavers?

Oh dear, runnybeak. I  hope he's feeling better soon. I assume the hospital have told you what to look out for , for delayed concussion.

Having heard a recent (true experience) story about X factor auditions( other similar vile shows are available) it confirmed what I've always thought about them being totally contrived and set up. It's why I never watch any of them image

RB - hope OH is ok. As you say - can be an instantly life changing moment.

Glad to hear your news DD. I work with someone who's father suddenly took ill when they were out running. He just felt out of sorts and short  of breath. He's a very fit man - he was late fifties at the time - but a week later he was in hospital having a triple bypass. It seems the problem had been there a while, but because he was so fit (ex marine) his heart had already started creating it's own bypass....image  The family has a genetic disposition to heart problems.  He was told he'd have been a goner if he hadn't been so fit.....

doc - I know what everyone means about being super nice, but my reaction would tend to be like your's. You just want to have a go back at them.  Just try and 'keep the heid' and remember you're better than them image

I like eggs every way except cold in sandwiches image

Not keen on fried either - never eat them.

  • Hi all,

Lovely day here. Just dropped Charlie off at holiday club and they are all playing out in the park. image

Come home to empty house though (have to wait until 3pm to see OH) and felt very down. Runny I read your post and realised why I felt like that, a real sense of helplessness, one minute everything is fine and the next minute your world is turned upside down. I am so glad your OH is ok (and mine too) but I am just left with this frightened feeling of what could have been? I think Verdun has mentioned it before, we take so much for granted and yet it can all be taken away in a millisecond. I suppose the best response is to get out there and appreciate every minute and everything you have.image

Might have to have an extra piece of cake now to make sure I can really appreciate the good things in life and cheer myself up, stop all this maudlin thinking. image

Have a good afternoon all, enjoy every minute. image

Himself is arguing. Apparently it is Brian and the Herbert's singing.   " jump on it"

    Specsavers here I come.

DD ((hugs))  what has happened to your OH sounds very similar to what happened to my cousin and, as in the case Fg quoted, his heart had started to make it's own bypass.  Cousin was a very fit and active man (farmer) -  the op was about 20 years ago and he hasn't looked back. image

What he did say is that it wasn't until he'd had the op that he realised he'd been feeling really tired for some years before he collapsed, but he'd just put it down to getting older.  Now he lives a really active life (he must be nearly 70) and has no health problems at all.

I'm sure your OH will be fit as a fiddle and home playing with Charlie very soon ((hugs)) image

P.S.  Two pieces of cake would be acceptable! image
