4 hours to go! We're watching a lovely concert on Tele. David Hobson, Lisa McCune, Teddy Taho Rhodes, Bradmans granddaughter, - all at the Sydney Opera House. It a mix of Broadway and Opera. Really good.
Morning all and afties Pat - hope you enjoy your New Year celebrations when they come
It all passes me by I'm afraid - weather looking favourable for a walk tomorrow - if the roads are open. Rest and be Thankful - along with a couple of cars - had 300 tons of hill on it. They've just finished clearing the last landslip there. I think the new defences are little help. A85 was closed in both directions after Crianlarich, on the way to Killin, which is where I intend to go. Hopefully that will be ok by tomorrow.
LP - I think these drones are a real menace. There doesn't seem to be any restrictions on them
Hope you feel a bit better today W'song. I don't find anything helps better than hot drinks and Paracetamol. Very wearing.
Day at a time doc. Hope your MIL isn't affected by the flooding. There was 70 miles of road closed there yesterday. No major rain forecast for today so hopefully it will improve.
Off to see what you've been chatting about since I was last on. Stay warm and dry
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Morning all. I'm back from a lovely family Christmas, and then a quiet few days spent going for long walks, reading books, catching up on Christmas TV (thought AC was fantastic) and generally chillin' . Its been bliss. Also had a trip to London to see WarHorse before it closes its doors .....so glad we we went. I blubbed at a puppet .....thats a new one, even for me
Not a fan of New Years Eve - always sad to say goodbye to another year. i think it was Hosta that pointed out that midnight comes and goes without fanfare or poignancy every day.
Rain has cleared here, for one day only, so will get out and stretch our legs somewhere today.
Happy hols Hosta, great to see you Pdoc, and hope others are doing well, or conquering lurgies.
I slept badly, little one in room next door slept badly too, has an ear infection. I have arthritis which is playing up. I had a dream that we were coming back from holiday, were waiting for a train and there were hundreds of people. OH jumped on the train, the doors slammed shut and I was left on the platform. He had my ticket and I didn't know where we were going. Woke up in a panic!
Making meatballs with pasta for early lunch then the 2 families are going to the cinema. Daughter has bought fireworks for tonight then we are having nibbly things and OH's home made Gravlax in the sitting room.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Just waiting for guests to go so I can get in the room and be ready for the next lot. The people at the moment have a lovely little boy, 14 months old and he is as sweet as can be. He sat good as gold through dinner last night, in fact he even helped me with mine (thankfully as I have no appetite), he polished off all my carrots and broccoli and even managed a bit of chicken, he much preferred it to pureed baby food, quite understandably.
We think the next lot are going to a party locally tonight so hopefully I can sneak off to bed, feeling much better but still not 100%, mostly just tired/washed out-ness, all fixable with sleep I hope.
Whatever you are all doing this evening I hope you have a good time and will take this moment to wish you all a healthy and happy New Year - nearly spring so we can get back out there and do what we love best - gardening.

Pauline, once you've got your eye in ours needs re-doing 'cos we forgot to do it with anti-mould emulsion last time Don't mind doing the middle- it's those danged edges - but OH is soooooo good at doing those
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.

I rather like doing the cutting in....
Happy New Year, when it comes, to you and yours too DD. Try and take it a bit easier in 2016
