I dont know. I bought it donkeys years ago, because it was dusky pink and different to the white ones that seemed to be the only ones available then. There are about 12 of its seedlings in the same bed. The one I am digging up was a 1 yr seedling I moved two years ago, so even if I knew the name of the original, I can't call it that. I intend taking seeds off my new Ashbrook garden hybrids, but the seedlings can't be called that because they could have cross pollinated with anything else in the vicinity.
That said, all of the dusky pink offspring are pretty similar to the parent.
Now if you want pink........
In John Masseys garden yesterday. i didn't take a pic of the hellebore house, I was a bit overwhelmed, like a kid in a sweetshop full of pick and mix.
'Beano' KEF? Not heard that one before! Sorry, no room for B&B at the moment - would have been no prob at last house - and you could have walked to the nursery from there too. Once my extension's done I might be able to squeeze you into a cupboard somewhere.
You would need to bring a truck for plants though. Very difficult not to go mad with the credit card there
Lily - send a few here - they look lovely. I'd intended making some today but my sister phoned......I'm now catching up with the housework I should have been doing
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Lovely hellebores on here - particularly the pink one at Ashwoods.
went for a long walk instead of gardening - one of the views is below - mother nature's very own prairie planting of swaying grass in front of white multi stemmed birch .... isn't she clever .....
Just seen Busy Lizzie's thread yesterday re the opera - you would have loved the performance of Aida, which I saw 20 years ago in Luxor, Egypt. It was staged at the Temple of Queen Hatshepshut, under the mountains, near the Valley of the Kings.
To reach it easily, the Egyptian Army built a pontoon bridge, spanning the Nile, from Luxor to Thebes - the whole thing was amazingly well organised, and to see Aida in a setting like that,in the desert -unforgettable.
