I really need to do some weeding. Something to look forward to this evening if its not raining too hard! OH brought me two tins of paint yesterday (not quite the engagement ring I wanted but...) so we need some more good weather so I can get the woodwork outside smartened up.
So starts another week at work - with the added excitement that I'll be covering not just one but potentially three people's jobs if our "delightful" receptionist decides to go awol again (I will forgive anyone pulling a sickie if they at least make the effort to tell the same story to people not three different tales!)
Need that new job! Come on Yorkshire there must be something out there for me.
Good morning all another lovely morning here in Norfolk
Daisy, that sounds like a good Sunday's work to me - after all Sunday is supposed to be a day of rest
I've just been sitting here with the door to the terrace open listening to a cuckoo calling very very close to here, either in one of our ash trees or in the NDN's hedge - I didn't move a muscle in case I disturbed it - it was so close that it woke OH who was sound asleep upstairs!
I wonder if it's the one called Chris that Chris Packham is tracking on Springwatch? He said it was in Norfolk 43 miles from Minsmere - that would put it about here
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Clari - re your sickie co worker. Isn't it infuriating when people are so thoughtless? Hope you can find something more fulfilling. Take your fury out on it all with your paintbrush!
Daisy I'd thin k you could make a fortune with your Verb. bonariensis. last time I was in a GC they were charging about £8 for a 2l pot
Dove you're spending too much time listening to wildlife and gazing into ponds...
I'm just jealous!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good morning we've had some rain overnight, it has perked up the newly planted kale.
Hope sweetpea's leg is okay, she isn't here so must have managed to go to work.
Hugs for all the workers.
OL your GH looks smashing, healthy plants You reminded me I need to sow my basil.
Clari I hope you find a new job soon, if not my shed wants painting
Dove I can't remember hearing a cuckoo since childhood, we've currently got magpie family making a din, young one is being shown how to dunk bread into the bird bath.
Fidget, during my long and exhaustive quest to have a blue poppy I'm sure that some start purple and turn blue, I'd be happy if they grew a flower and not just leaves. Off to look for your picture.
Just getting ready for my first visit to the salt mine for a while. Think I am ready for this. I have many people tucked in my handbag Thank you for all the well wishes.
I had a look at Gardengirl's link for the show in Stansted. I had imagined near the airport, but it's more in the Chichester area. That's the weekend I'm having my charity Strawberry Garden Party and plant sale. Must do some more weeding this week.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Back after my morning inspection, thought it was mild it's 17C. Forecast is max 15C and heavy rain, unless my eyes deceive me the sun is burning through.
Cumbers have got over their transplant sulk and GH toms starting to flower, outdoor toms have lots of flowers on
No sign of a blue poppy Perhaps if I stop looking it will happen, as appears to be happening with lots of other things.
Today at M's got her re-cycling bin to fill and her Dave toms to deliver, they will live near back step so she can easily tend them. This is first year she hasn't had some in GH but too much for her. She usually has a courgette and some beans, but I can keep her fed
