Feeling a bit wiped out after last few days, good excuse to read a book and chill.
Hope you all enjoy New Years Eve in whichever way you choose to spend it. I was always a go out and celebrate wildly sort of person, now it is more a nice meal, bottle of wine and bed.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Happy hols Hosta (try saying that 6 times quickly after a couple of brandies )
I have dreams like Busy Lizzie more often than I care to think about - usually when I'm trying to plan / organise half a dozen different things all at the same time.
Am spending today getting the house back to pre-festive normality - am fed up with things being in the wrong place.
We don't 'do' New Years Eve - never have - never will - don't get it at all. OH is away for work so will probably go to bed & watch a bit of Jools Holland (assume he's on) & SKYPE OH at midnight - then go to sleep. He comes home tomorrow afternoon so will be making a rather nice fish pie (with shellfish as well as white and smoked fish) for dinner.
Feeling a bit low today an aunt (very elderly but a mainstay of my childhood) died before Christmas and I've just heard that a (much younger) friend died yesterday (cancer). Always get down in January - but 2 funerals will make it seem darker.
Enough already - need to get on and do something.
Happy New Year Pat in 3 minutes
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
I'm sorry to hear that, Topbird. It seems that several Forker friends and relations have died around Christmas, so hard to cope with. Hugs.
The 2 families have eaten their pasta and meatballs, which 10yr old grandson helped me make, and they have left to see Starwars for the bigger ones and a cartoon for the 2 littlies. Smallest is asleep in her cot here.
We are sort of doing New Year with the grandchildren tonight, until their bedtime, fireworks, nibblies and drinks. I always feel like an early night on NY eve but rarely seem to get it. Usually get invites from friends, first time family have been here for a few years.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Edit - Forgot you're 11 hours ahead Pat - not 12. So Happy New Year in an hour!
