Hi Dove. That's a funny story. I must admit I don't like egg white either - tasteless. I solve the problem by whisking both yolk and white lightly before dropping into a pan. that way I can't taste the boring white.
Yes interesting about the Cunninghams Skinks. The mother (the one with the funny tail) lost about 3" off the end a couple of years ago and has been growing it back gradually. I'm not sure what sex the younger one is, but they like the habit of arriving for their treat in warm weather.
I love beer, I love wine, I love whisky [ and gin ] but, I hate celery, most lettuce and pumpkin.!
Brilliant!

Dove - if I left stuff out on the pavement here people would just phone the council to complain...although since they didn't pick up the bags of plastics on Friday I'll be doing the complaining....
Damn cold again here. As I took the plastics back out again the temp was saying 2 degrees. Winter draw(er) s on...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Sorry didn't get chance to pop in yesterday, spent a lot of time with Charlie, we went on a bike ride, collected some more walnuts and made some cakes and he was allowed to see Daddy for '5 minutes' which we managed to extend by being very quiet.
OH has been moved back to the local hospital after having a stent fitted in Limoges. They are now monitoring him for 24 hours and maybe he will be allowed home if that all goes well. I hope so, he is going a bit stir crazy in there, although he is allowed to sit up now and go to the loo on his own. Bless him.
We had guests last night, last minute booking, one night only and very nice too. As I type here Charlie is having breakfast with them, I say having breakfast, he has not stopped talking yet, the poor people are being interrogated about where they live, how old they are and why they have come to St Yrieix, and he has also told them exactly what he is going to buy with his share of the walnut money - it's exhausting just listening to him and amazing considering less than 18 months ago he couldn't speak a word of French. Think I ought to go and rescue them.
Have a good day all.

Good morning Dove and those to follow, afternoon Pat
You've both made me feel like poached egg for breakfast
You do have some great entertainment with your (unusual to us) visitors Pat
Wonky I'm glad things are looking up in the home front. Nearly there now
KEF I don't know why you needed a skip in the first place. If only you'd known that it all disappears so quickly
DD I hope your OH is improving and can come home soon
Have a good day
Verdun do you just dip the celery in the beer or use two pieces together as a straw
KEF
Wonky just put loadsa stuff on her drive next to the pavement and it walked off on it's own ... within minutes

The Cunningham Skinks sounds like one of those posh couples in an Agatha Christie book....
