Hi everyone,  Weather has been awful today, popped out to get nails done and also pay mums bills and got absolutely soaked.  It doesn't seem to have got properly light at all.

DD I have hardly spoke to my brother for over 30 years.  I really don't like him and we have absolutely nothing in common, when mum goes I'm sure that will be it.  I used to let it bother me but now have come to terms with it and just get on with my life.  Hope you can find your own way through it.

Haven't watched AC yet, still have quite a bit of TV to catch up on.

Dove I'm with you, not keen on Jeremy Vine at all.

Pat, glad to hear that hubby is safe and sound.

    Stay safe everyone.

Hi from Kingswinford in the West Midlands
  • Hello all image

Frank blew a bit here, then rained quite a lot, but it's now all cleared up.  Fingers crossed for Bushman - and for my nephew who lives in Peebles...  Glad the greenhouse has survived, Verdun.  There are a few glassless ones around here where the river went in one end and came out the other.  image

The grandchildren left this morning (with their parents, but the grownups make less impact, somehow!).  We've changed beds, done washing, put away toys etc, and are now feeling a bit lonely.  "Book. Gampa. Readit!"  "Read it what?"  "Peeeese!" won't be heard again in our house for several months.  image

However, there are advantages in having a bit of time to ourselves.  We can book accommodation for our Madeira holiday in Feb, try to find a builder to sort out the damp in the ground floor here, think about garden plans...  image

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Did I miss calamity Jane Runnybeake??!?! No!!!!! I know all the words as does my step daughter! Its tradition! Grew up on it both of us!

Bad day at work, but home now image decided last night to drive the neighbours crazy by cooking Moroccan lamb in the slow cooker all night and day! And then offer them none! As they have no respect for me cuz I'm a non breeding woman that actually goes to work, thought I'd show them I have some traditional skills image those smells oozing through the floorboards will drive them mental! image

Glad everyone seems to have survived Frank intact! image

Good to hear your feeling better DD! image

Runnybeak, can't your OH spend a pleasant couple of hours with Doris Day? You've spent some time with Aidan Turner image

Had a marathon cooking day today, starting with a huge lemon cheesecake which was for tonight's pud - all gone now. Two families left, son 1 and daughter 1, 5 little ones. Did a Chinese meal for dinner. Chicken balls in batter with S&S sauce, beef & onion with soy Chinese noodles, chicken & veg stir fry, big prawns in ginger in sweet chilli sauce & red peppers & mushrooms, BBQ pork slices and rice. Was glad it all went very well and everyone was happy. Now knackered.

They are all going to the cinema tomorrow afternoon. I'm looking after little one, 1 1/2yrs.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
