Morning all. I enjoyed reading the last posts since I went to sleep last night. Not long woken up and a peep outside shows bright sunshine plus remnants of fog which has now lifted.
I can relate to the dog antics. Our HRH can not be diverted from her little routine no matter what. She only weighs 4kg but she has us under her paw. She also will spend 36 hours without food if it is not to her liking. Her current thing is the meals I dutifullly cook for her - chicken, ch livers and giblets, vegs, rice and salt and pepper. I make enough for about 3 days and store it in fridge/freezer. But it has to be warmed just a little until it's just right. I ran out a couple of times while I was sick and she was offered her old favourite canned dog food instead. It sat on her bowl until it shrivelled up and I had to put it out for the birds eventually.
Not sure what the plans are for today. Need to go to town to post a birthday card to our 11 year old grandson (plus cheque). We don't see him much as his father has other interests around the Sydney area since our daughter died. I'm glad he has found someone else and apparently our grandson likes her as well, so I'm pleased for him too.
now that the new garden bed had been made ready, I should put the spuds in. They're raring to go.
Good morning all Drizzly here and it went down to 8.8C overnight, but it's up to 10.9 and rising at the moment ... we're off into the city later this morning - OH needs undies, socks and jeans for our holiday and he hates shopping, so lunch out with a glass of something will make it easier. The car will be left in the underground car park at the big shopping mall, and a team of Polish lads will polish and valet it for it's holiday
I'm definitely a glass half full sort of a person - I was also raised on Pollyanna, so I can always find something good to say, whatever the disaster
Yvie, look after that cold - you've probably picked up a virus 'cos you're a bit run down - take some echinacea or Selenium Ace or similar for your immune system. You don't want colds at this time of year.
I was AWOL last night 'cos I got stuck into my knitting - I'd got to the shoulder and neck shaping on the back, so there was a lot of counting to keep the pattern right - it's done now and I've started on one of the fronts
Hosta, I've just heard the forecast for the week ahead - yes we may well get some showers on Friday, but also sunny spells and then High Pressure is going to settle in over the weekend and it said that we're in for good autumn weather - morning mists, mellow fruitfullness etc just like Verdun promised!!!
Pat, ((hugs)) glad your grandson is happy - it's a difficult time for him, and a very important relationship - I'm sure he knows how important he is to you

All part of the excitement the holiday prep isn't it! I hope Verdun keeps his promise with the weather.
Clari, that dog of yours has worked wonders to get you so well trained so soon.
After all the excitement of the week-end (and yes SGL, a little drop of tequila left) a quiet week ahead, just 2 German ladies staying and the dreaded airport shuttle today, OH away again so I am hoping to get into my knitting - a teddy bear planned, we'll see what he turns out like.
Hope you all have a good day and the weather is better than here - wet & soggy.

Morning all! Got a sick 4 year old as well as baby whos started keeping me up all night again. Can someone pass the matchsticks and say something to make me laugh. Definitely need a chuckle!
Oooh Snoodle ... poor you .... afraid it's that time of year - all summer people go away on holiday and get new bugs and then bring them back to nursery/school to infect everyone else
Here you are!
