That's good, at least your place seems oK. I've been sitting down this afternoon doing some colouring in. I got Hubby to somehow download the page from the GW mag.
Morning KEF Liri SGL and everyone else as you all arrive.
Liri, great news about your mum
Lots of birds on the feeders this morning, many more than of late - Gt tits, blue tits, goldfinches, starlings and the robin, and woodpigeons are on the ground hoovering up any dropped bits and pieces, especially from the fat blocks that the starlings are attacking.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Beautiful morning here - but like others I think there is rain to come
So pleased your Mum is settled Liri - but sorry about your mammoth journey. At least on a train you can take a good book with you to pass the time.
Hosta made me laugh with his tales of surfing in the hotel lobby (surfing of the wi-fi kind). If we lose either of the Chicklets on holiday these days that is always the place they turn up. Glad you are having a nice, relaxing, sunny time
Think we are off on a family shopping outing - Mr C seems to have conjured up a Christmas list. But most of it involves hammers, saws and other woodworking stuff which I am bound to get wrong if left to my own devices.
Morning all - it is still morning isn't it? Perhaps I could be on 'Pat time' today...
Mind you, it's so dark it could be four in the afternoon. Rather unpleasant out there and the birds were very impatient waiting for their breakfast. Dove - it's just colder now isn't it ? They're looking for a bit of help from us trusty gardeners
I seem to be getting blackbirds in a lot more now, which is great. They're enjoying the suet bits in the borders. 'Mr' sits on the shed roof waiting for me, and 'Mrs' was in once I'd put the grub out
Ggirl - you're always so busy. We haven't got suitable weather for any gardening just now. Ground's saturated and it's too cold for doing much unless it's a few minutes here and there.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Good morning everyone, afternoon Pat, great looking veggies!
Just been having a read back, sorry to hear about the car Kef, bad timing! Hope its fixed quickly and cheaply! Fingers crossed!
Chicky, any chance of a slab of your Christmas cake with coffee? Sounds scrummy!
Lesley, know what you mean! Not feeling Christmas spirit at all! Black Friday brings our peoples greed and selfishness even more so than usual, think my shopping choice of Bramley apples, cabbage and fluffy socks a wise move then exit town at nearest opportunity!
Thanks also to lesley, Fairy and Winter, for the driving best wishes! Getting there fingers crossed but nerves are a b****r!
Liri, so pleased that you found your mother so settled! The home sounds perfect! It must have been a nice journey back on the train, looking out the window and knowing that you made the right choice! She sounds most content
Morning to everyone I've missed, have a lovely weekend!
Pdoc and Mrs, may good things come your way!
Hostas, have a lovely warm holiday
Dove, I'm watching the birds on the feeders too! Perfect way to start the day! X
Morning all, hoping everyone is well- if not , wishing you all a speedy recovery.
Lovely start to the day , sunny and some blue sky ( fingers crossed that it stays a while).
Plan to go on a walk this morning maybe, must check out what hubbs wants to do first! The days are so short now that we find it a challenge to fit all our 'jobs' into the day light hours at times!
The garden is looking nice and tidy, thankfully we have kept up with the leaf fall this year !
Most of my time is now focused on overwintering plants in both the greenhouse and cold frames, taking and caring for all the cuttings and harvesting the seeds from the drying pods.
Also getting ready to start Winter sowing (end of Dec) in milk containers, had great success last year! I think this way of sowing is mostly used in the USA and Canada, but I found it good and save space in the greenhouse as the containers are left outside.....can't wait to get started!!
