My pond is quite small by comparison, 1m20 x 2m20 x 50cms deep. It's got a bit overgrown. Don't like cleaning it because it's full of slimy, creepy creatures! Toads like it. Did have a waterfall but the pump keeps clogging up. My son did it before he went to University, now he's 30.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Pottie, was it you that put another pic up of your pond a few months ago? I remember someone putting some pics up, and it was huge, looked like the sea lol. Great pics
You were talking about magnolias this morning. I have Leonard Messel which is OK with alkali soil, unlike some. I love it. Haven't noticed that about the cold making whiter flowers though, must look out for it. Here's mine last year.

What lovely pics busy. I always fancied a magnolia, but think my garden is too exposed, we back onto fields so its quite open. Have read they need a sheltered spot. Yours looks beautiful
Dove, I'm sure with your walking regieme and no work stress BP will drop. Slowly slowly catch a monkey
I've been for my annual girlie hospital thing today..no prob', come back next year.. Think I know the Consultant like a friend. ..Been promoted now a Prof"...lovely chap, now gone grey, hope that wasn't my attempts at humour.
Verdun...nah, nah. nah, ...we grow wonderful Magnolias in Yorkshire.
Buzy - Amazing picture, I think working there you never quite notice the beauty of things, you just know you need to clip the hedge or mulch around the nepeta, without taking much notice. Did you see the great big pond in the italian garden? During last September two people fell in it in one day, mustn't laugh, but it is a bit funny
Verd - my nan has a friend who lives on shoreham beach, which is basically a miniature island built in the sea, and she's got a magnolia, think it's 'Susan', but could be wrong. It has been known for the flowers to last only a few days in rough weather though, although have been assured it's over 35 years old, but she is 83 and losing it a bit bless her.
Star - What's stopping you getting a pond? Ill dig one for you
KEF - that's such a nice picture, love how the grounds been decorated aswell!
