The garden is my Mum's (aka known as ours now in terms of care) About 1/3 acre, more like a park than a garden in tree area. The Magnolia is a baby at the side of some of her trees. I'm not joking..things were bought and planted with a studied view to final size , but no one told the trees and shrubs!
Verd I'd swap you climates & gardens any day. Hard work at M's and probs getting rid of "prunings".
In the pic you don't see the actual slope, never been able to have ride on mower. Mum is only 4' something these days & bro' is 5'10...pic taken to show it to her and not upset her. So Bro in a dip.
Clari, that's not a pond it's a reservoir.
More chapters of my book me thinks. Well in a while, not at 7.30pm. Will keep me out of "naughty food".
Have a great evening all.
p.s I might live in Yorkshire but it's only since I've used Nigel Slater's recipe for Y. puds that I've made any decent ones. Prior to that I made nice tasting Y biscuits. ...Toad in the hole, I cooked sausages first & chucked them in..they seemed to sit on the top but it was nice.
Just had a thought, that's going to be a hugeeee pile of soil your digging, what's happening to it? That's an amazing opportunity to build a bank to separate you garden into section
Did find a pretty old spoon once and some money, they was a large house not that far from the garden but on the other side of the railway and up a hill a bit, have also found in the past lime bricks and lots of glass bits
