Just been to supermarket. I had just locked the car and the heavens opened. 100yd dash and arrived at trolley bay soaked. Did shopping, then managed to drop a bag off of top of trolley. Of course it was the one with the glass jars in. Put shopping in car, then went back in for another jar of chilli dipping sauce.
Party and fireworks tomorrow.
I'm glad you found the bracelet , punkdoc. I empty my vacuum cleaner on to the compost heap rather than the dustbin , hoping that if I lost an earring, it may eventually turn up.
I really wouldn't be without my car now! Even used the petrol pump today, first time I've had to fill her up since summer . Took a trip to the new John Lewis store in my town, (using the big scary roundabout ) only bought latte cups and spoons. Went to Sainsburys afterwards for a small trolley that cost me £70! How much?
I only bought a few bits to tide us over and a woolly pompom hat for my chilly early starts at the weekends. toasty head tomorrow morning
Got my bulbs in this morning too . Everything done in the garden now
Quick look in while OH is otherwise engaged, to catch up on news good (finding bracelet, good on you PDoc!) & bad (car KEF!)
Long trip to see Mum yesterday (nearly 4 hrs each way on the train) but was rewarded with a peaceful, contented Mum clearly at ease in her surroundings, enjoying the quiet (no noisy roads or continual buzzers and loud conversation), and the company; many of the residents are mobile, if confused, and enjoy spending time together singing along to "Sound of Music" etc. A rewarding visit which has put my mind at rest.
Time to give the laptop back - sorry no time to catch up more; hope you've all survived Black Friday!
xx
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Morning all. Thank goodness for Dove. I've been reading all your posts about Black Friday and frowning at my iPad, thinking whatever are they all on about? If Black Friday (or B Saturday) is spoken about here, it always refers to a bushfire disaster in a past year.
speaking of which, the fires in SA (as at last night's news) were 2 dead, 90 hospitalised, 5 of whom were critical and I forget how many homes and farms lost (I won't talk about the number of livestock that had to be put down and the acres of wheat lost).
To get back to your lovely cheerful chatter, for which I am very grateful, lovely to hear Pdoc success, those new drivers, happy shoppers, Lirio's Mum, cheeky husbands flirting with complete strangers, etc. etc. please don't ever stop. I'm beginning to think I can't survive without it!
I meant to say Pottie Pam that I can relate to the 4am call outs with my little toy poodle. She alsopretends to be shy of water and will go to all sorts of ploys to navigate around wet bits. I've watched her weave her way out the back of the house in light rain and side stepping around various protuberances to keep dry. I do know it's just an act, though, and we get a good laugh at some of her antics.
