No snow here yet Dove - just vile heavy rain, bordering on sleety On the plus side - tennis is on later....
Can we have some of your sun please flowers?
Wonks - (that's my new name for you ) if you can get a long run somewhere like I did in the car, it really does wonders for the nerves.
I forgot to add my best wishes re mum Liri. The long journey is worth it when you see her happy - you can't buy that comfort and peace of mind
The Black Friday thing is yet another lousy import from the States. As someone said yesterday - they have a slap up meal the previous day giving thanks for everything they have, and the next day they're fighting each other over b****y tellies
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Am busy with Guide stuff today and tomorrow. Have a Christmas Market from 11.30, then need to get some ingredients to make some cakes etc for the cake stall we are having tomorrow after Church Parade! Was thinking fancy flapjacks and a Vicky sponge
Liri, I am glad mum has settled in well, must be a relief
Hope the snow stays away for a while Fairy - I'll be packing my warm clothes for my trip
Everyone sounds busy and a bit T'd off about the forthcoming festivities already. I think Black Friday was a huge non-event round here so (hopefully) it will be dropped in this country in the future.
Nice & sunny but very chilly here. I think the weather will be deteriorating later (in time for tennis ) so am going to nip out and tidy up the fruit patch for an hour. Then a bit of h****w*rk and then time to sit down with tennis and write my C cards.
We're having a week away (Yorkshire - nowhere warm and exotic like some people!) in the middle of December and have just invited my in-laws for Christmas (will be staying 3 days). That means that when I come back from holiday I have just 2 days to get the house clean, welcoming and Christmassy and sort out the food with all the hassle of the crowds.
The only way I will be able to keep a smile on my face (or is that a rictus grin?) is to get as much as possible done before we go away. So I expect all presents / cards to be wrapped and written, garden sorted, non-essential h/wk done, staple groceries and household stuff bought, decorations dug out of the loft (but not put up!) and lots and lots of lists made - by Friday. I love a deadline - it's the only way things get done in this house.
Best get started then.... SYL
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
It's a low key affair in the Fairy household these days - thankfully! I couldn't do the whole 'catering for guests at C'mas' any more. The wand doesn't stretch to arranging everything for me anyway
I can see flapjacks may be required for some of us for watching the boys later. Better make double the amount...

I'll have to read all this later - glued to Junior Eurovision and can't concentrate of both

Think you'll be fine where you're going Panda. Hope the weather's half decent though - it always helps
Thinking of making some flapjacks today too - I need sustenance for watching the tennis. It's hard work...
I put cranberries in mine last time - nice and festive Panda. And if I eat enough of them - one of my five a day!

I was thinking choc chip, and maybe decorated like this...
They are choc brownies, but I thought it might work with flap jack, and matchmakers for the tree trunk
Lovely Panda! Can you send me the mint Matchmakers - they're my favourite
