Fingers crossed Panda and congrats Wonky.

Morning fellow Forkers,  Looks beautiful ouside but suspect it's not as warm as it looks.  Still lying around in dressing gown at the moment as couldn't seem to get to sleep last night, finally dropped off at about 2.00. so not feeling the best.

Need to get motivated however as the garden really does need some attention, the lawn really needs mowing but we have had a lot of rain and not sure it will be dry enough.

Looks like we've got a sunny day today, a dry night and dry again tomorrow before some showers on Sunday.  Probably lawn mowing here tomorrow image

I've just had a lovely long shower and a bit of a titivate 'cos we're out for drinks with OH's boss tonight.   Scrub up quite well don't I? image

Sun is shining image Wind is blowing, perfect drying day, if only I'd left my washing till today image

Thanks for your best wishes, my mental fingers are crossed too image

  • Just back from my travels with 6 new rockery plants. image Little disappointed because the sign hanging over the display said buy six and get one free, however, when I went to pay it seemed all of the ones I had chosen weren't included in that a particular offer. image Did find some lovely white spring bulbs for my white bed too though. image

Equally miffed to get home and find OH had managed to say such good things about my cooking skills that all the guests have booked dinner for tonight. image, Just when I though I had a night off. image

Pics below of my acro-branching experience for any of you whom might wish to give it a go! image

All very tricky, especially the net, ok for Charlie he is only little, my backside definitely took some manoevering to get through image and the for the grand finale had to go down the zip wire just to get off! image So pleased he he is back at school next week and I can get back to gardening. image

I did acro branching with my daughter and friends a few years ago. I was absolutely terrified. There were 10 levels of difficulty. I only managed the first 2!

Now preparing for charity BBQ here on Sunday. Went shopping for it this morning. Lots of clearing up, cleaning and preparation to do. Place is a tip!

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Oooh Lizzie, I was fighting the fear all the way around, I knew I couldn't fall but had visions of getting stuck mid air without the stomach muscles to pull myself back up and dangling there embarrassingly. Charlie kept assuring me a man would come and rescue me if it happened but that wasn't helpful at all. image

Good luck with your BBQ, so sorry we can't make it. image We probably crossed paths this morning at Trélissac too. image

I  love pinks Verd - I intend getting some more although they will probably be potted rather than in beds.

Hope Panda is calm and focused image

Great pix DD. You couldn't pay me enough to do that. I'm totally happy on top of mountains, even on quite exposed ridges, but zip wires etc ....image

Lovely pic Betty....err Dove. You scrub up much better than me image

Off to take daughter to work and get a few things for baking. She made some pancakes so I may have to do a triple Munro this weekend, what with those, birthday cake and lemon drizzle this week... image image

    Aren't we strange creatures! image

Forgot to congratulate WW on passing her theory. I'm fortunate to have done my test before all that malarkey. Not sure I'd have passed if I'd had all that to deal with  image

The sun's shining so I'm off to get a few things done before I have to think about dinner. I'd be happy with scrambled eggs. Wonder if I can persuade small fairy to have something basic...image
