    Morning all.

Windy here but not the same as up north. Can't make its mind up between torrential downpours and sunny intervals.

Fingers crossed for more sun as the house is full of drying laundry after being away.

Why don't we do " travelling light"?

Appointment to see consultant Dec 22nd image and so it drags on.

Hoping fellow poorly peeps get better soon.

  • Good morning all,

Hope everyone is okay and surviving the winds. Sunny and calm here in Cornwall although we had some squally showers earlier.

My daughter said that Halloween  falls on Friday the 13th next year. Almost caught me out for a moment.

Just think, in another month it will start getting lighter again.

No storm here. I have spent a couple of days planting. I need to stop buying bulbs, every time I think there is a gap, I dig some up already planted there.  I planted four hellebores that have been hanging around in pots, a Bressingham blaze autumn anemone, and the last of the seed raised foxgloves. Just two ton of oak leaves to bag up now. Keep safe everyone.

Hostafan, I think they had Dahlia imperialis flowering at Rosemoor, so if yours doesn't flower this year, it may next

PUnkdoc, you  could ask your neighbours ever so nicely if they have had any trouble with vandals. You could say that your wife is so upset that you've had to install hidden CCTV, but it will be handy if they have any problems because it covers anyone approaching the houses. What a good neighbour you areimageimage smile sweetly, it will annoy them no end. Of course the thing about hidden CCTV, is they don't know where it is, or whether you have it or not.

    tee hee

Hubby just called, he's trying to find the house of someone who wants decorating done.

"Yeah, you're in the middle of nowhere, welcome to my world."

  • Result!!!  Just popped up to the farm shop to pick up the extension lead we lent them for the Turkey Tasting, and came back with a roasted bronze turkey carcase - enough meat on it for a meal for four plus the makings of a big pot of good turkey broth  - I'll freeze the meat to make a Turkey Pastilla for sometime over the Christmas holibobs (we're not having turkey this year) and I'll start on boiling up the bones ... when I've had a mug of coffee - it's wet and windy out there now.

result indeed Dove. Well  done you.

    Hubby just called again.

He called them to say he couldn't find it

" we didn't recognise the number so we didn't answer it."

" yeah, nobody can ever find us"

Welcome to my world , again.

Why don't folk give directions when they know their place is hard to find?

He's in a car park and the folk are driving there so he can follow them home.

Dove, thanks very much for that link. I've had a quick look and will keep it for later to follow progress.  Fairygirl, I agree that I now find visitors rather an effort - it makes me feel mean to sat it though. my gastro bug seems to have been beaten after 3 months. I put it down to taking a capsule of live bacillus every night. (Doesn't that sound gross). Just as well they are contained in a capsule, I couldn't face slipping a mouthful of live wrigglers in. image

Flowers in the rain, I hope your headache eases soon.

Lesley, thanks for words about HRH. She is such a lovely old thing and gives us much pleasure.

I'm not long for turning the light out.

It's been a very strange day weather wise today. I couldn't get settled into any jobs. I did manage to plant out a young pumpkin seedling and hang my garlic into awkward strings for drying, though. So long as they dry, I really don't care if they wouldn't win any prizes for clever shapes.

night all. Hope the rest of your day goes well.
