Morning all. How strange, DD says there is fog, none here, we had it all day yesterday and we only live 45 mins. apart. Very cloudy here though. Forecast says sun for the weekend. My washing will just have to stay on the line until then.

OH has horrid cold so I will go to the supermarket without him.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

    Morning all, afternoon Patimage.

I like the new avatar Pat.  HRH looks very regalimage.

It's been wet and windy but, as Fairy said, nothing much out of the ordinary.  Hope you get lots of plant bargains today DD and that the fog soon lifts.

Lizzie I hope you don't get OH's cold.  Very hard to avoid though.  Are you feeling any better Dove?

Yvie I was pleased to read that your Mum is feeling happier.  It must be a relief for you.  How did the scan go?

I'm still preparing to go down to Cheshire but may have to be flexible as to which day because of the awful weekend forecast.

    Have a good day everyoneimage

  • Much better thanks Lesley - just a bit of a cold now.  Not a problem image

  • Morning all, won't stay online as still have abit of a headache( hoping it's not going to turn into a migraine).

Just want to say that I hope all are well /feeling brighter.

Those that have to brave the storm, take good care.

    Morning Peepsimage

Sunshine here ....might be its last appearance for a few daysimage.  Think I'd better start planning for an insidey sort of weekendimage.  Is it too early to be scanning seed cataloguesimage ?? Still have the Chiltern one on my bedside table, and the list of things to try is longer than the windowsill space alreadyimage

Taxi-ing sort of day and night ahead .....hoping the winds don't hit here too early.

    Morning all.

Much colder today, plus wind and rain, looks like I will be curled up somewhere warm.

I have already put my seed order in to Chilterns Chicky.

    Have a good day everyone.

    Morning peeps image

Hope you're all surviving the gales without too much damage.  Bright and sunny here not a thousand miles away but OH says rain is threatened for the rest of my stay....starting last night.... which it didn't.  Looks like dry and breezy to me, from the chart,  Ho hum.

'taint no use to grumble and complain... / It's better to be happy and rejoice / When God sorts out the weather and sends rain / Why, rain's my choice!

The weather's provenance may be a matter of opinion (now there's a discussion we haven't had yet!), but the sentiment's laudable.

Anyway here's hoping that illnesses and injuries are improving and gardens are ... well, if not exactly flourishing at this time of year, at least bedding down for the winter satisfactorily image

  • Morning all.

Lovely sunny morning here, glorious autumnal colours on the trees at the back of field.

Off for cuddles with little poppet today.

Hope all poorly peeps are feeling better.

    Have a lovely day everyone.

    Morning all.

Just dropped the car off for brake pad replacement - might have to stand on the street corner tonight if it costs too much image

Went for a lovely meal last night. Very different menu - things like muntjac & pigeon & ox heart.

image for the last one - although I'm sure it was beautifully prepared & tasted & smelled nothing like the ox heart we used to boil up for the cat.

We were given a voucher for the restaurant last Christmas which I stuck in a drawer & forgot aboutimage Found it last week & decided we'd better use it before I did the same again...

Nice & sunny here at the moment but all change for the weekend. Think it might be time to turn off the supply to the outdoor taps so they don't get frozen. My friend gave me a load of cyclamen & other plants on Wednesday so I might go & plant those this morning.

Hope anyone in the far NW still has electricity & is keeping safe & warm. Ditto Dove's thoughts on the idiot who thought it was ok to start climbing Ben Nevis when a big storm was just kicking off. At the very least he should invoiced for the MR call out. Hats off to those volunteers.

Cuppa char then time to get on with some work image

Hope you stay germ free Lizzie & hope all poorly peeps feel better today image

Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
