I did wonder Verdun why you looked like so many others, but now I know for sure. Lots of brothers and cousins, I guess.
I've been trying to find information about the storm over there without success. I've tried BBC World channel, weather bureau, and various local news/weather channels but all they talk about is Middle East and Burma issues.
The storm is mainly in the far north and west of Scotland Pat - if you look at a map - it's the Hebrides and places like Ullapool on the west coast. Slightly different conditions from my holiday earlier this year! I'm further south - we had a wet, windy night, but nothing any worse than we usually get at this time of year.
The pic is because Verd said we're all doomed, and that was his catchphrase!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Blue skies and dry here - a bit breezy but nothing to worry about. It'll dry the ground out a little . The lowest temp overnight was 8.9C. I'm sure the Hebrides will cope with Abigail - they know how to keep their heads down. Schools are closed and ferry sailings cancelled.
Can't believe that there was a hillwalker on Ben Nevis last night! What an idiot? I wouldn't have blamed the rescue teams if they'd left him there - but they never do that.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
I doubt there'll be any gardening today when I get home from work - more rain and miserable weather to come later. I may have to be forced to drink tea and make, then eat, cake. It's a tough job...
Hope you're feeling more like yourself now, after your illness and all your visitors Pat! I didn't mind that until a few years ago. Find it all quite stressful now

Very foggy start here but hope it will clear up later. Market day today so off there shortly, always a busy vibrant atmosphere and always meet people to chat to, typical French market, more social than shopping. I do know the plant stall is having his last outing of the year so I might just get some bargains.
Have a good day all.

Chicky, why did you put the photo of the bloke from Dads army? Did I miss something?
Morning all - well, Verd and Pat

Thanks Fairygirl, I didn't remember that - it was a long, long time ago, after all.
Good morning Fairy, Verdun and all
G'day Pat

Dove - don't get me started on these idiots...
...and it's why I think good, maintained paths on popular hills are sometimes a really bad idea.
Enjoy your day DD. Glad your OH's on the mend now too
