Hi guys hope everyone is happy its a little damp here but that's fine it will freshen things up. On my garden browse I have lost every single rose bud completely gone as if the garden fairies have used their secateurs on them . I would have blamed the rabbits but a couple of them are at least 30 " high do you think it could be one of those little deer I think they are called skipjack . Somewhere I heard thAt birds are vandals too but surely they wouldn't eat a whole bud . And leave no evidence. I'm a tad miffed cos one was a Casanova bud I have been waiting to bloom for the first time.
A much needed day off today and I've managed to cut the front hedge including on my neighbours side (I did knock on their door to ask - and left the cuttings in a pile as requested for her son to tidy up later though I am not sure he'll be impressed with that!) Even if it did involve standing on the truck bonnet as I trust that more than a ladder.
Its doing its best to threaten with rain which is not fun when I am trying to get a mass of washing done: how can two people and one dog generate so much washing?! I hope you're all having nicer weather (although my garden would benefit from the rain so I'm not sure worried).
Keep safe: I'd best get back outside and finish painting the bird boxes (my partner brought one of them for my birthday gift over three years ago. I'm hoping by beating him around the head with it he'll finally put it up for me!!)
Primrose - Muntjac think roses are a particular delicacy - they love them! Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but, if they have found them, you need to find a way of keeping them out or start growing something else. They also like viburnum buds and a zillion other things.
They and the squirrels were the bane of my life when we first moved here. The garden is now gated and fenced which keeps the deer out and we've taken out the walnut tree which was the squirrels favourite playground.
Heaven is ... sitting in the garden with a G&T and a cat while watching the sun go down
Harvested last of goosegogs - about 2lb from the espalier in my shady yard; first proper crop. Summer pruned them for the first time too, and sprayed garlic emulsion againto get rid of the moderate attack of sawfly. Much better than last year, as I sprayed at the first sign off attack in June and it promptly stopped. Last year they got every leaf!

Swans can be pretty sh*tty at the best of times - have you seen the grass around the lake in the park???
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
These have clean bottoms

Skipjack are Tuna. I know its rained a lot but if Tuna are eating Roses we're all in trouble.
I think you mean Muntjac
Nice one, fidget
But sorry about your lost rosebuds, primrose.
Afternoon all.

Warm, dry and overcast here.

Now about to give a jam-making lesson to a friend
Hi everyone
Hugs all round for everyone.
It was funny when I got back from work this afternoon. I found my husband doing this.
Made me think of Lilly Pilly and Runnybeak. Hubby must have had the same thoughts.
Work again tomorrow lunch time. Now it's time for a cup of tea and wander round the garden. Then to make Spag Bol for tea.
