Oh hi Fairyimage.  I'm putting off going out with the dog but can't for much longer.  It's so dark this morningimage.  You're right about the sudden change.  Nearly all the leaves have blown off the acer apart from a sheltered bit at the bottom.  Still the clocks change tonight so it should be lighter tomorrow.  Enjoy your ironingimage.

    Poor poniesimage.

I'm not trying to make you feel envious, but have a look at this. I just went out to turn off the soaker hose and was greeted by these clouds. 6.15pm.

Lesley image for Leek and Potato soup I use 50:50 leeks to potatoes - I base it on my friend Ian's recipe http://www.souvigne.com/recipes/start370.htm  on his B&B website, sometimes I use chicken stock, sometimes I don't image

Lesley, I have an old recipe for Potato and Leek Soup by Paul Bocuse. You're welcome to it if Dove doesn't answer your question. image

Lelsey - re son's case full of deodorant, is he hoping to pull? image

DD - it's lovely to hear you feeling lighthearted and cheery after all your recent issues. image

My garden looks relatively unscathed by the wind and rain - all fences and structures intact. The planting's all still upright too so I think I've got the balance reasonably right for my conditions!

Definitely soup weather now - made a batch last week but it's all done. Might need to have cake for lunch instead. It's tough, but someone has to do it...image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
