Oh hi Fairy. I'm putting off going out with the dog but can't for much longer. It's so dark this morning. You're right about the sudden change. Nearly all the leaves have blown off the acer apart from a sheltered bit at the bottom. Still the clocks change tonight so it should be lighter tomorrow. Enjoy your ironing.
Tried to get back to sleep but it didn't work so going to get started on some jobs - after another coffee.
Fairy, yes a bit like a giddy schoolgirl, one of them has the most gorgeous brown eyes and smile and lovely brown silky hair and his voice and ..... Eight for dinner tonight, I need to pull myself together.
Leaf collecting today too, OH has bought a petrol blower to make it easier for me. Hope to find the rest of the walnuts when the leaves are gone too.
Have a good day all.

Lesley for Leek and Potato soup I use 50:50 leeks to potatoes - I base it on my friend Ian's recipe http://www.souvigne.com/recipes/start370.htm on his B&B website, sometimes I use chicken stock, sometimes I don't
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Lelsey - re son's case full of deodorant, is he hoping to pull?
DD - it's lovely to hear you feeling lighthearted and cheery after all your recent issues.
My garden looks relatively unscathed by the wind and rain - all fences and structures intact. The planting's all still upright too so I think I've got the balance reasonably right for my conditions!
Definitely soup weather now - made a batch last week but it's all done. Might need to have cake for lunch instead. It's tough, but someone has to do it...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

DD that's an impressive time for a slap up breakfast! They MUST be pretty fellas!
I set the alarm early so I could make the most of the day. Want to start getting organised and find things in boxes a home!
Can't type yet as only 2 sips of coffee have gone in so far!
Hope everyone has a lovely day!
I'm not trying to make you feel envious, but have a look at this. I just went out to turn off the soaker hose and was greeted by these clouds. 6.15pm.

Lesley, I have an old recipe for Potato and Leek Soup by Paul Bocuse. You're welcome to it if Dove doesn't answer your question.
Pat, that's cumulonimbus, expecting rain..?
