Dreadful about that coach crash - heard updates on the radio at work. Doesn't bear thinking about. I was wondering if BL had any relatives in that area, so glad you're all fine.
It does bring home, yet again, the fragile thread we all hang by.
Sorry you had a sad day too Jo. I had the same with the little cat I had when I lived in my flat. She didn't come back one day after I'd let her out for a while, but a neighbour found her and brought her back. She'd been run over.
Cleared up here so I might try and get a walk somewhere before the rubbish weather arrives. Don't think I'll get anywhere much at the weekend LP - heavy snow coming...
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Ok folks, shall I stay Miss Marple for a bit longer, or shall I go back to being Picasso's drawing of a white dove? You choose ...
Meanwhile, I've had a productive few hours - I've bent the ear of an irritating young man at the AA - they wanted me to go back to them and quoted me the highly competitive (not) figure of nearly £199 for one car!!! When I said that was almost twice as much as Green Flag quoted me for the same service, although I'd had to call them out once this year, it suddenly transpired that the AA quote was a mistake and they had us down as a two car family - (OH doesn't drive!) and anyway, that was their excuse for an extortionate quote last year!!! I don't like their business practice and I told them so! Grrrrrrrrrr! I shall stay with Green Flag
Then I changed our power tariff - according to their sums we should save around £500 a year- fingers crossed - think of the plants that will buy!!!!!!!!

My vote is for the dove, Dove and you've already had it confirmed that you are a featherweight. You punch way above your weight with the nerds and jobsworths of this world though
My vote would have been the dove too, but I see Dove's already a dove again.
Daughter and children left after lunch and we have been to the supermarket. Vital we went as I have friends coming to lunch on Sunday then I'm helping with a charity "Quiz and Curry" on Tuesday.
I'm sorry about New Kid too, Jo. Like others I thought he was just late home after an adventure.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Jo, I so sad for your news, I think you probably know by now what a cat lover I am, animals in general....I'm a soft touch for a sob story or a runt or stray! I worry every day if I haven't seen Flatters the shed cat, I know he had a wonderful owner in you and was obviously loved and happy as any cat could be! I'm sure another cat in need of a loving home will find its way to your door and into your heart and will never replace Newkid but will be a welcome addition to your tribe! Big hugs and I'll take a share of your sadness to give you company! X
Haven't kept up with everyone's news yet so very sorry, will catch up after coffee!
It's ferdiddling down now - has been for a while - but I carried on fashioning a squirrel/starling proof cage for the hanging feeder. I'll make a better one if the little birds negotiate it without too many problems.
Miss Marple may be required - the ' male German shrub' has made an appearance again on the hedge query thread..

Hosta, you best keep taking the tablets
Where's Miss Marple gone?...

I've had a chat with Wonky, and Picasso's dove stays ... but Miss Marple might just reappear as and when needed

Miss Marple might have to get her secateurs out - she's a dab hand at snipping at a hedge
