Good morning Hosta Hope work today flies by and you're soon back in the garden to enjoy the evening
Have had a quick read back - isn't it lovely to be sooooooo busy in the garden
BL - hope today goes well and that you can relax and enjoy it - perhaps take a glass of something cheering to dull the pain (as long as it's not contra-indicated with any antibotics - there seems to be a popular misconception that you mustn't take alcohol with them, but I think that Fidget will bear me out that only applies to some - most are fine if an occasional apero is taken
KEF, glad you had a nice evening 'with' friends
Pdoc - enjoy
Everyone else help yourselves to lots of hugs and smiles as appropriate ................
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Ibuprofen and paracetawhatsits are fine with alcohol. Anything with codeine, morphine or other opiate is not.
Looks like another sunny day. I started the week with four trowels. Broke two, lost one, down to an old one I inherited that must be older than me.
There was a bit of a panic yesterday. I sent out all the wedding invites, with a note to book rooms asap. I got a phone call last night to say bookings were refused, the hotel was full. A trip by bridezilla discovered that all the regular receptionists were off ill,and the spare did not know how to transfer bookings to the block we had reserved. Normal service will be resumed on Tuesday, when I will go through the room allocation.
Had a very hectic week looking after guests but last lot have gone this morning and nobody coming until Monday now so have a free day, was very good and cleaned whole house yesterday and did all the i*****g so just one little load to deal with today.
Am just baking cakes to take to Bizzie Lizzies Open Garden Day, hoping to help there where I can but think I will just end up admiring the garden and the plants all day, it was beautiful when I last saw it at the end of last summer, am sure it will be glorious today.
Verdun, like you a few weeks ago I had a lot of bare patches I was twitching about but now more or less all getting covered as plants are growing, hopefully my patience has paid off, not a natural trait for me.
See you all later, have a good Sunday all, I will post some pics on BL page later too.
PS, my rose in the new rose garden has flowered for the first time this week and it is beautiful, pic doesn't do it justice but I am very happy with it.

Wish we could all hop on a magic carpet and visit Bizzie s garden today
Cakes sound very good too
Hosta watch that knee, they take a while
Fidget, exciting now the invitations are out, I am sure you will sort out rooms
Had a good day between showers yesterday but it's cold and wet and windy again today. Sweet peas planted up in containers but I am wary still of planting others
Got my new trees in tho and looking great.
Have a good day

Beautiful sunny morning. Grass seems to have shot up again after the rain on Thursday.
So will get washing on the line and go out to play.
How lucky DD to be able to go to Lizzies open day. Save us all some cakes
Lovely pic too.
Hope you have a lovely day Lizzie
Pauline......glad it wasn't just me too, lol
Hope all poorly peeps are feeling better, hugs.
Verdun know what you mean, three doors up have a daughter who seems to like the sound of her voice/screams. Parents obviously think children should 'express' themselves Thought that maybe a year older than last she may have got out of the habit, but no such luck........she is now almost 8!
Enjoy your day at Lizzies DD - just seen your cupcakes on the other thread - would it be ok to have one for breakfast
Another day in the garden planned - some more potting on and then a bracken bashing session in the meadow. You can certainly notice the difference in the bit I tackled last year, so worth persevering. My yellow rattle is going crazy too.....happy days

Morning all. Rubbishy weather here as forecast so nothing much will get done outside. Oh well....
Hope BL has good weather for her 'do' today.
Pauline and lily - I just couldn't imagine what BB meant either - I'm putting it down to my age
Liri - if only salad crops and sweet peas would grow as quickly as bittercress - I've not sown any of them yet!
Did someone mention cupcakes
...don't tell Verd. I've still not had my breakfast - only a cuppa- so save me one for later.
Off for a quick look round now.
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Lovely rose DD. Enjoy your day, and your cakes at Lizzie's
Lily, until about 18 months ago we had a family with 6 children living next door
