Ground elder in incinerator bin, ................................then sit at my kitchen window with a pint of Darjeeling and smile at the results if a hard day's gardening! Have a lovely evening all!
A lovely evening to you two too Mind you don't overdo it - not long since you had a bad back!!!
Verdun, Shelterbox is such a good charity - such practical help - we support them too. That amount of devastation is just too horrendous to comprehend

Thank-you all so much for the lovely things you've said about our garden.
One day we'll get as far as the lake and sort it out. In summer , I have to confess , it's a bit weedy to say the least.
A month ago I was so despondent about it all ( bad knee etc ) but Hubby has come into his own. It suits his kinda OCD personality to have it immaculate.
The fence beside the drive is about to disappear so we have uninterrupted grass ? views down to the lake.
We moved here 3 years ago , so very much still " work in progress"
Just catching up, so more warm words from me Hosta - it is a stunning garden in a majestic setting. I can almost hear the birds tweeting from here.
Nice that there's still plenty to work on too - nothing like the satisfaction of a good project! We were talking about this the other week, how if money was limitless we could get people in to dig ponds, lay paths, build steps and walls, and finish our garden project in one go. But then we would miss out on all the fun of doing it gradually ourselves, and the real sense of connection that comes with it. I love looking at things thinking "OH built that, and I held the spirit level"( Never underestimate the importance of my contribution)
Yes, 4th panda, definitely Wonky now! beautiful clematis! Putting my little twigs to shame! Hosta, your garden is gorgeous! And I'm green with envy at your location....wish I didn't see my neighbours!
Fear not Dove the back has survived its battle with ground elder, has been soaked and fed, and is about to slob out watching videos in sowing grass seed
Late shift tomorrow so the morning is all mine! Taking Harrie puss out for cat club, no doubt shed cat, Flatface will be there conning food from me, they will be birdwatching the black birds and their snail meat feast breakfast that I evicted earlier, while I commence faze three of operation eradicate grind elder!
Hello everyone, sorry I've not been around again, I've popped in and out but not posted. It's been a stressful few weeks and I havent done much gardeing (again!). A couple of weeks ago I planted out my free perennials from last year and the other day I spotted one of my hostas that I had forgotten about had popped up right next to the Geum........I will have to move the Geum now. My Clematis is growing really well. It's amazig how things grow when I've done nothing!!
Chicky, I saw a comment about 16 year olds and the dreaded E word.......roll on June when it's all over, well for 2 years anyway.
I got a lovely planter for my birthday from my MIL and am buying a new potting compost scoop with money from my M&D. Thank you all for your birthday wishes, I am really touched especially as I haven't been around and you still remembered.
I hope everyone is ok, I'll try and be a better Forker and pop in more often x
Morning peeps. Glad you popped in OL - a compost scoop is a wonderful thing (and I mean that sincerely).
out to see Monty Don tonight - finally got tickets for a theatre near me (thanks to Topbird and Lily for alerting me to the possibility). I guess it might have been made possible by the snooker bumping GW off the schedules this Friday .....they say every cloud has a silver lining
Hi, OL it's good to see you pop in now and again. I can imagine you are pushed for time with running a business. Have you any plans as to what to put in your new planter?
Chicky my OH doesn't believe in spirit levels. Fortunately I do.
Good morning all Hope you've all had a good night's sleep - I bet Wonky did after all her exertions!
Lovely to see OL popping in
The robin has got used to the fact that when we appear so do mealworms - as soon as I was at the kitchen window this morning the robin was on the grapevine the other side of the glass, urging me to move faster and bring out his breakfast - this morning I sat on the terrace while he took two mealworms from my lap
