Evening all. I'm still at work: the traffic outside is awful there's no point my battling through that when I can sit on my laptop and carry on working for a few precious hours! (As you can tell its going well - waiting for some documents to print!)
Sheffield has seen snow hail and rain today. Glorious sunshine now which I am hoping might last long enough to keep the field we're at an event at (Bakewell) this weekend from becoming a big muddy puddle.
No whiskey for me thanks Dove Can't get past the smell, but good to raise a glass for Pa
Look what's ready to burst into flower:
My clematis Pink Perfection
Have also sewn my Morning Glory seeds for out the front. Have started to make some showing, not enough to be seen on camera (they're a bit camera shy) but I am happy with their speed
I've got a small tent, is there room for me on Hosta's lawn too It does look rather idyllic Hosta
Ground elder in incinerator bin, rubble in sacks, mud in hair, ears, toes... back bent, spirit broken, but back boarder and edge of lawn have been de- ground eldered....asif that's possible! Stomped flat, raked, stomped again, raked again, buying lawn seed and making scarecrow tomorrow!
Enjoying everyone's pictures! Inspiration for my blank canvas
Off to soak my bones then sit at my kitchen window with a pint of Darjeeling and smile at the results if a hard day's gardening!
The Nepal earthquake has had such an awful effect on so many people and it follows the cyclone in Vanuatu. I'm not sure that the sort of God one imagines exists although I go to the C of E in France and I don't want to discuss religion here, far too explosive a subject. But Shelterbox, that Verdun mentioned, based in Cornwall, is one of the charities that we support. A wonderful charity helping people after disasters that make them homeless. http://www.shelterbox.org/
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

Verdun, it has really upset me too. Such devastation in such a special place
