Lirio, I'm impressed. We don't have anything like that, although, to be fair, Hubby and I are remote from town and I don't get involved with much in there except to shop. I seem to remember that Hugh Fearnley W or was it Jamie Oliver, who was trying to get various places to open up their spare land for people to grow food. Can't quite remember, now. I'm a big fan of growing food, especially herbs. It encourages people to make their own flavours in their cooking. I rarely use commercial stock cubes etc.
Hello all. Back last night, later than expected, son and DIL couldn't find their cat who has to move house too and the new owners of their house have a dog. Cat found, 4 hour drive with DIL and 2 small GDs, bought pizzas from place down the road, daughter 1 here + 3 sons. Been to supermarket for more supplies, other daughter and son & 4 more GCs coming for w/e.
Have read back a bit. Glad Lily P's scan didn't show anything bad. Hope Panda's interview went better than she thought.
Regarding jam and cream - I thought that in Cornwall, where the clotted cream is very thick, that it's cream first then jam. In Devon it's jam first then cream. Those looked liked drop scones to me.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
DD, we have slept in quite a few B&Bs. They all have rules, often printed in the information book in the bedroom or in reception. Rules are - clients must be out of the house by 10.30am or 11am and must not come back before 4 - 5pm. In the Daily Telegraph book about running a B&B it says that clients must realise that B&B owners often have other part time jobs, at least they have to have spare time without clients for cleaning, shopping, cooking, gardening - therefore clients should go out sightseeing during the day. I have stayed in B&Bs that forbid the use of the pool before 5pm as they or their families want to use it.
A B&B is not a hotel. It is the owner's home.

Surely, it is jam first, then cream and then more jam!
