I know what you mean Hosta. It's the sun that attracts people. I would only go back for the 'art' aspect, the heat doesn't do anything for me. Sadly, the economy's humped without tourists wanting the heat especially at this time of year
Looking forward to your pix
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Yvie I can empathise, so glad you have good news. We never stop worrying do we?
so glad O H has had good news, you haven't had your troubles to seek have you?
DD we have nothing here either, I keep a cheats freezer which I always keep stocked with Wholefoods, or similar " instants " O H is responsible for ensuring there is always refreshment! by the way I now use half amounts of sugar in cooking, half fat dairy etc and he has never noticed.
Liri a big day for you all, sending hugs I know how you feel, it's tough
Winter how about some photos? Sounds a big job
My back is responding a little to medication and exercises which is just as well as Russian visas came thro today! OH mighty relieved and thinks delivery man best ever as he said what a lovely garden as he drove up! Little things mean a lot!

My floor usually get to bad for the steamer, the only way is to scrub it, in and out of the garden a lot and can't be bothered to take boots off all the time.
Hosta, thought that holiday was too good to be true, hope yours vans ready and camera will be in use later. Couldn't you leave a pint of milk in the freezer, it takes only seconds to run it under the tap and get enough for a cuppa. I buy skimmed for the week and keep it in the freezer.
back to my disasterous garden... I didn't sow enough annuals to fill gaps and what I did sow got eaten by rabbits, as we all agree, the weather wasn't good at the beginning so nothing planted out until mid June here. My sweet peas are in bud now!
I am determined to be better organised, I did have mum to look after last winter/Spring, I have lots of seeds and thanks to Nut and some other kind people, I have some lovely new plants to pot up and grow on.
I don't think I posted a pic of the overall garden, just the best bits,
Thats my moans over for the day, as my parcel has just come from Nut, I am off to thengreenhouse.
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
Hosta, Simon Calderr has just been on the radio saying that he thinks that the UK Government will put their own security in at Sharm airport within the next few days, and then things will go back to normal. People who have been trying to cancel holidays and get refunds have been told 'No'.
Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
Thomas Cook are a little behind. In the last hour I have had a list of special offers emailed to me. Among the ones for Turkey and Tenerife, are all inclusives in Hurghada. eerrm.

New camera collected, but it takes 4 hours for the first battery charge so I can't play with it yet.

Fairy Waitrose is 1.5miles away so normally just pop down.
Van in garage and there's a very steep valley in the middle, so hills there and back. Dodgy knees and a sore, erm, bottom, mean I'm not walking.
I don't / didn't have high hopes for Sharm, but in terms of weather, sea temperature, duration of flight and cost it beats other places.
Van back now, so I'm off to collect my shiny new camera.
Catch you all later.

and another one. Sharm el sheik from £291 . No thanks
we're all for security but I'm happy to go there.
I'm sure you're more likely to be killed in a car crash on the way to the airport than in a plane.
