Morning all. It was trying to snow this morning. Stopped now. Car going for MOT and I'm going to the fabric shop to get blackout curtain lining for bedroom curtains and uncovered cushions for the sitting room. I'll cover them with the left over curtain fabric.

Also need roofing felt for OH's shed. A plank of wood and some roofing felt blew off in the gales last week.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Morning all, sorry to hear your ill DD, have you tried "prontalgine" from the pharmacy as there very good for pain relief? Had no electricity since its pouring down and it tends to knock everything out here so house is freezing. I shall try and have a wee read back but more than likely there will be too much. Hugs to everyone feeling under the weather...hope this cheers you up.

Don't think Prontalgine is available under that name in the UK.  It's a brand name for Co-codamol which can be bought over the counter in low strengths only in the UK - you need a GP prescription for the stronger stuff - which is what Wonky had the other day image

    Morning all.

DD, warmest wishes to you and other poorly peeps. WW x

Feeling much better. No pills, just 2 doses of cough syrup a day. No pain at back of throat, One ear still "Pops" if I blow my nose hard. No pain in chest. Altogether a lot better.

Even had 3 tasty meals yesterday as my sense of taste has come back too. and the weirdest thing of all.  I SEEM TO HAVE GIVEN UP ALCOHOL.!!!!!!!

Haven't had one in a fortnight , and despite all you can drink free bars, I really don't fancy anything.

Yesterday was the best day's weather we've had . 27C and not a breath of wind. Did some snorkelling despite millions of cup sized jelly fish ( non stinging ) but it's still kinda weird swimming through them.

Saw my first puffer fish yesterday and the lion fish is still holding court  in his little hideaway.To-day is a different kettle of fish, ( no pun intended) Very breezy with a hint of sand in the air. Hubby gone to see if he can find a sheltered spot with 2 beds.

    Devon.

  • The word "vinegar" comes from the French, who named it "vin aigre," which, interestingly enough, directly translates to sour wine.
