Second attempt at Good Morning! Its my day off today (I'm also meant to be on my last week of holiday and we were meant to be going somewhere but guess whose darling partner seems to have failed to book the time off?) So as you can tell I'm on the laptop working away. I have however learnt that

    a. I hate Microsoft and its annoying updates!

    b. In the first month of this year I will have taught more school children than we did in the entire year of 2011.

    c. In the first two months of this year we are only 68 school children (so far) short of beating the entire amount of children we taught in 2012. Can you see where this challenge is going?

    d. 723 people have learnt CPR through us since May.

The snow has melted, or at least mostly melted, the garden does look sorry for itself! I have a new plan for the back garden after its been destroyed by the almighty garage plans. I'm thinking of getting a green house frame (since they are not worth much second hand once the glass has been damaged) and using it as my base for a chicken run: it can be stabilised with extra struts and wire mesh. It will then be tall enough to stand up in and of course will match the other two greenhouses. Now to try and work out how to position three greenhouses so that they don't rather over take the garden!

I can accommodate (on my own providing someone brings me plenty of mugs of tea) over 1,100 students a month Dove and there are 20,000 eligible students that could visit us in the local(ish) area (we cover key stages 1 & 2). I'm working on plans to accommodate 2,000 students a month on my own (so long as I have my tea boy).

Once I run out of children in South Yorkshire (not likely; there are almost as many schools as pubs around here. Must be something in the water!) I'll take the museum on tour (or have a holiday.... probably a holiday... somewhere very quiet).

  • Hi all,

Thank you for all your kind wishes, I am feeling a bit better, just a bit, and have a doctors appointment for 4pm today, which is really about getting the referral to the dental hospital. I am on something called CoDoliprane, which seems to be a mix of paracetamol and codeine. It is starting to have an effect now and I presume the antibiotics are starting to work as the swelling seems to be going down a bit and the vile smell and taste is my mouth is easing a bit too. All very yucky and really not what I am used to but at least I have some treatment and a doctors visit organised. image

Glad you are feeling better Hosta, there has been a lot of us on here poorly, really not good, I am with you on the alcohol front, couldn't touch a drop right now, which is probably not a bad thing, for a short time anyway. I am sure we will manage to get back on it at sometime. image

Clarington - rather you than me. image

    Hi everyoneimage

Clari - you deserve recognition of what you're doing there.  In about 20 years we'll be proud to have known Dame Clariimageimage.  Love the idea of a greenhouse chicken house btw.  Just the nest boxes to sort out.

DD I hope the meds have fully kicked in and that your referral to the dental hospital will be swift.  At least the guests you have are really nice and I'm sure they can put a kettle on if they want a drinkimage.

Is your ankle better now chicky?  Don't make the mistake of doing too much too soon.

    GWRS - hicimage

Glad you're feeling a bit better Wonky and Hosta.  Wishing you better soon Yvie and Pat and everyone else who's feeling under the weather.

It's become very misty here and has been drizzling all dayimage.  I'd much rather have the frost.  I'm sure it will be back by Marchimage

Really pleased to hear that blue Monday has had no effect on gardenersimage

    Greetings all!

Hard luck Clari.  You clearly do a great job - apart from anything else, that number of people who know how to do CPR has got to be a good thing.  image

I had a trying morning, occasioned by Ryanair processing my required flight booking right up to the last moment, then freezing the screen so I didn't know what was going on.  Had to have a web chat with - Eszter, I think it was, at Ryanair - for nearly an hour before she ascertained they hadn't taken any money from my account and suggested I should start again.  image  Frustrating, because there were only 2 seats available for the cheapest option when I first started the process.  However, Mr Sod was clearly still in bed because one of them was still available when I got back on the website...  image  so I'm off to Galway to help the family move house, a week today, staying just over a week.

DD, hope the improvement continues and you soon start to feel a lot better.  I agree, face pain is the pits.  image

Next doors' snowman is looking a little the worse for wear - slumped sideways, and his nose has fallen off.  It's 7C here now, but pretty raw and dismal...

Clarington, are all the ones you taught CPR to, schoolchildren.?

I do think that first aid and cpr should be taught in schools, sadly it doesnt seem to fit in anyone department.
