Gratz Hosta, enjoy the extra cash you now have every monthimage

Been in the garden all morning...rearranging my unbalanced border and in the process worked a very uninspiring corner that I never really knew what to do with. I have to say, impromptu but I'm really liking it

Brie crackers and salad for lunch then back out, no rest for the wicked

Afternoon all, Weather here has been good so far but we are supposed to get rain around teatime.  My new Garrya was blown over in the night so had to retread it in and put the stake back up, don't think it has broken, will just have to wait and see.

Hosta what a lovely feeling to pay off that mortgage.  Ours will be paid off in a few years when our interest only stint comes to an end.  We are planning to use father in laws house which was left to hubby when he died a few years ago.  We rent it out at the moment but will need to sell it to pay off the outstanding balance on ours.

Have been busy in the garden this morning, sown Clary Bouquet Mixed, Cosmos Daydream, Sunflowers Black Magic and Vanilla Ice and Verbena Dwarf Jewels Mixed.  Shelves in Conservatory getting full and so is the greenhouse until I can move some of the slightly tender plants outside into sheltered spots.

Have potted on Aquilegia and Cleome.  Really pleased with the amount of lobelia, Didiscus and Petunia that have germinated moved them off the heat now so they can grow on.

Dove I hope today goes OK for you and your family.

Verdun haven't watched your latest escapedes yet, will probably save that for later today.

The water was cut off this morning unexpectedly (not because I hadn't paid the bill).  Back on now so its time for a cuppa.

    Hiya

It's a wondeful feeling isn't it when that mortgage is paid off. Congratulations

Is it Dove's Pa funeral today or the day for arrangements - either way thinking of you and Verdun. That was hard for us mum's first birthday away from us, it was also the first anniversar of her leaving us

It's the hardest one so thoughts are with you

Have spent morning pottering in GH. Think I am going for a walk now - too much inactivity!!

I remember when my Mother died in 1992. I found "surviving" each big day was a little milestone, Mother's Day, her birthday, my birthday, christmas etc etc.

I remember thinking " right, I've managed that one"

Warmest wishes to Dove, Lyn, Verdun et al.

    Devon.

    Verdun x

As Hosta says 1st anniversaries and events are hard, but you get there in the end. I ignore Father's day, don't actually remember DOD because I chose not to. I celebrate Dad's birthday and grit my teeth at Christmas. Other events are easier for me as I still have my Mother.

Matty it's Lyn's mum's funeral Wednesday and Dove's Pa I believe is after Easter, today is the arranging day image

Well I have ended up in Cheshireimage.  Not too bad a journey despite setting off in light snow.  Mum is still sitting in the ward day room waiting for a bedimage.

Hosta - brilliant news about the shoes/mortgageimage

Yvie, I thought you had loads more to say but had lost your voice or used invisible inkimage.  Love KEF's idea of a planting spaceimage.

Hostafan - Huge Congratulations - what a wonderful feeling!!!  And your OH must be some special kind of chap for an unrelated person to leave a lump sum like that image

Verdun - what a lovely idea to mark your mother's birthday in such a special way image

I hope everyone's had a lovely day and that you all have your hatches battened down!

    Lesley, thinking of you image

Tentative funeral arrangements have been made - private cremation in the morning of Friday 17th - hopefully a Service of Thanksgiving at their church in the afternoon - however we've not yet had confirmation that the minister is available ...
