Punkdoc - thanks! It's actually Lismore, a little island nobody's heard of. Further south, in Loch Linnhe, east of Mull.
Glad your garden has survived your absence, even if you have got an unwanted visitor...
Fairy, I'm with you regarding pylons. Horrible things! I'm definitely in favour of wind turbines from an ecological point of view, and generally also aesthetically, though I think they're not always sited carefully enough.
Runnybeak, thanks! Marsh fritillary is a "definite possibility" (as they say).
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Liri. I had a wonderful washing machine engineer who had a place on Lismore. He had twins, this is going back about 25 years. Don't suppose you knew him?

Hope the Bressie gang have had a good day and returned safely.
Welcome back Pdoc, sounds like you had an amazing time.
A day off with son tomorrow, but he's absolutely tired out (asleep in car within minutes of picking him up from grandads) so we may have to have a lazy day instead of a fun day. I see far too little of him in the holidays so like to have day trips, but sometimes a fun-at-home day works out the better option.
Hi all! Back from Bressingham! Weather held out for us! Think I can say we all had a lovely time thanks! We took lots of pictures so will be going through those in a bit! Want to read back and see Pdoc and Liri's pics too, so be back later
D'you know what Verdun, you are ( as ever ) right.
After a very vocal insinuation at work yesterday that I wasn't pulling my weight, I'm in no hurry to go back. I can potter in the garden and when it starts to ache, I can stop. I can't do that when I've got 70 crates of shopping to deliver to a timetable.

Afternoon all.
Toured the garden, looking good except I have been visited by a mole. Mounds all over the lawn and in the borders.
Love your Skye pictures Liri. When I was a bit thinner climbed several of the Cuillin Munros.

OH started new job today and will not be home till 19.30.
Strange to say, but I am looking forward to some darkness.

Evening all.
Doc wasn't happy that I'd gone back to work. Oops.
She's immediately signed me off for a month " at least" until the Ortho dept get in touch and make a decision.
Called work, don't think they're too happy as we're now in full flow Holiday Let season ( second only to Christmas week )
Glad the Bressingham visit went well look forward to photos, lovely photos of nice places and glad your garden has survived Punkdoc.
Bath beckons then OH is making a nice Thai chili beef stir fry as a thank- you for my help with his decorating job ( don't tell the Doc )

Good on the doc Hosta, you must listen, and rest that knee.
Wotsits to what they say, you must come first, and no more decorating!
I am giving up growing veg, just put my Spring green plants in the compost bin. Think of all the flower growing space!
What with rabbits and high winds, there no point in battling on, I have persevered for 4 years. There comes a time......
