Nice upside-down birds Runnybeak! Only mallards & Canada geese on the canal here, but at least they were the right way up... All in pairs ready for the duckling season, but no nests in evidence yet. Maybe it's still a bit cold...
Cyclamen coum planted & top-dressed with leaf mould. Looks as if it's always been there. Just read the label, says it's hederifolium, which it clearly isn't. These Dutch suppliers don't seem to be very careful with their labelling - care instructions are almost always rubbish as well as the name frequently being wrong, much too general and sometimes omitting really important information (eg plant needs acid soil).
Then I got my saw and demolished my neighbour's sycamore (with permission!). It was cut down around 7 years ago and had grown 5 sizeable stems from the stump, decreasing the light in her house, and looming over my garden. I'm happy to say I managed not to drop any of the stems on anything valuable (phew!) and have treated the stumps so they shouldn't re-sprout. A good afternoon, I think...
Your bench is really pretty, Yvie. I can just imagine it backed by philadelphus, wafting scent over you in the summer!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
How cute is he BM. He looks how I feel at the moment after all that gardening today. I think it's going to rain tomorrow, so I'll have a day to recover (and do all the h*******k that I've been ignoring.)
I had a trying day today, went to one of the small GC for a look about, and was looking for a Viburnium tinus gwenllian and some Heleniums named variety's. You have to walk up a small hill to the entrance of the GC, while looking up at the plants as I walk past I stepped in wet concrete, they were no signs of wet concrete or fenced off. They didn't half moan ( that putting it nice ) that I made two foot prints in the concrete. I didn't bother looking after that.
They give me dagger stare and write something down as I was going , i felt right guilty after so I went back later with a bit of cement mix I had left to offer to repair it, but they already fixed it. I don't think I bother going back there again
I went to BandM after and bought a Monarda cambridge scarlett instead.
Safe journey Lesley, let us know when you get there safe x
Got your email now thank you bekkie
don't think you Will be cheeky at all! 14 pounds is a lot of money spent to save all those points and like you say true price was fifty pounds and I'm sure wilkos plastic ones would be good one to compare and they look good ones. Email them and tell them you want your money back! X
