Morning all,  Very wet and rainy here and looks set in for the day.  Mind you the garden is certainly looking better for it.

Sorry about your sad news Dove.  Wonky make sure you give your mum lots of extra hugs.  Doesn't matter what age they are hugs from your kids work wonders.

Mrs G, I'd go for perennial violas, lots in the GCentres now and they have a lovely perfume.  Also nemesia lots of pretty pinks, white and lavender and they smell divine.

Lovely photos Dacha, we have a secial thread for photos where you can see what others are growing, might be worth posting your photos on there too.

Hi Hosta, its all a bit of a surprise, had some local volunteers hoodwink me into entering the local in bloom competition which is judged on the 4th of July, but if you entered you also got put in a draw to win a planter and plants! And I had a call yesterday saying I'd won! image bit vague, no idea of size, shape, material etc but lovely all the same! Don't know what the local competition is like gardening wise as I live in a notorious area, there is a musical that has just been premiered about my road if that gives you a clue!

Obviously I will supply pictures of planters, prizes and prettiness! image

Just read the review about the musical Wonky ... Isn't life full of strange coincidences image- they have made it into a film too......and it all revolves around gardeningimage  Your other name isn't Olivia Coleman is it imageimage

    Thanks Hosta! image

Haha Chicky! Not sure how I feel about it being made into a source of entertainment, we lived here at the time and knew one of the girls well as she and her children lived opposite. We had press and police and all sorts but I'd never get involved in the media circus over someone's misery, I know its supposed to have been done sensitively but I know things that leave a bad taste when you hear the "official line"

Certainly interesting time for the town! Couldn't go anywhere without passing police cordon for two weeks! Dove phoned me on my first morning of Christmas holiday and said she was watching my house on TV! image
