Jo The reason why I wanted another dog was so I could start walking again - love it - can put your world to rights with just a dog to listen to you.

This one is a bit small though, she looks like a miniature collie without any black but she'll do I hope

Wet here today, has finally cleared but a dampness in the air. We were going to visit the 3 Counties Show today but have put it off till tomorrow

Reclining on settee, fiddling on here, Rebecca on TV, and a book waiting to be begun - what a restful day

Runnybeak - glad you enjoyed Tulip Fever - I'm enjoying Wolf Hall at the moment, and then I have Bring up the Bodies to follow that , but I might re-read Tulip Fever again soon - I think I've left it long enough image

Thanks to everyone for their kind thoughts - it's just so strange to think he's not around any more image

Matty, some exciting news!  We'll want photos, progress reports ... everything image

I'm watching Rebecca with you, and when I've checked up on here I'll get the knitting out ...

Glad the prom princess is home safe and sound Fairy! Your right I'm still trying to teach youngsters how to party! image I've discovered that once they are at uni your allowed to do what you like as long as they don't find out and tell you off! image

Garden centre visits are always needed....planter or no planter, rescue missions must be made! image

Sorry to hear you have a dickie tummy Lesley! Hope it settles itself soon! image you are absolutely right about wondering about the kids of my friend, they were adopted, so I do hope they have a loving home and family, thank you x

Glad everyone is enjoying the RHS book! If I find anymore charity shop recommendations I will let you all know, the pictures are dribble worthy! image

Just seen about prospective puppy Matty! How exciting! Fingers crossed! Can we bribe the cat to be nice? image good luck!

It's more how the dog reacts to cats - some have been taught to not be nice to them. Our cat has missed the dog ever since he died - she disappeared for a couple of days and then wouldn't eat so I know she'll be OK

Hello forkers that's me back after lovely holiday. Gorgeous flowers all exotic and full of fragrance, sadly not suitable for a Scottish climate!

Have tried to do a catch up but feel I am just skimming the top!

Dove, sorry for your loss, too young.

Fairy, it comes to us all, just feel proud!

Lesley hope you feeling better, hear your weather been awful!

Woody soo exciting. Let's see the photos

Matty things sound good and well deserved, doggie sounds lovely

Dacha. Our family have just moved to Moscow 5 weeks ago! they are loving the beautiful city and parks. The light is the only problem with the wee one up early.

    Evening all image

Have been round at a friends house doing gardening image we had a minor panic when I thought I'd spotted the dreaded JKW, but following some extensive googling, and an aborted attempt to post on here, we decided it wasn't image huge relief all round image

So nice to hear .....we have an apartment in the center but spend most of our time at our dacha in the countryside....we installed shutters on the windows for the summer days , a quick fix is some tin foil on the windows which will give complete blackout ....and that will give you some time to get some heavy curtains.

Most Russians just like to let the sun stream in whatever as the winters can be a bit bleak, make the most of your time here as it is a very special place  image

Glad you had a lovely holiday LP-  while you were away we've had summer and it's now autumn....image

Great to hear your good news Matty - all very positive for you. image

Hope the cat and dog don't fight like ....well...you know....imageimage

I've been busy outside finishing my fence planters and generally tidying up. I can recommend silicone sealant for sticking pieces of trailing ivy to timber so that they grow where you want them. image

I'll have a quick look round here before I sort my gear and get an early night. Up early to go and walk at Loch Fyne. Have a good night all - I'll see you tomorrow night image

It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
